Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

INVESTIGATION OF THE POSSIBILITY OF USING A VORTEX HEAT GENERATOR IN HEAT SUPPLY SYSTEMS FOR RESIDENTIAL, INDUSTRIAL AND PUBLIC BUILDINGS

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений и энергетических объединенний СНГ: Энергетика, 2018
In a number of foreign countries, vortex heat generators have become widespread in decentralized heat supply systems. For Belarus, vortex heat generators are quite new sources of heat supply.

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

An experimental study of heat transfer enhancement using vortex generators in a finned elliptical tube

open access: yesRevista Científica de Ingeniería Energética, 2022
In the recent years some papers have dealt with heat exchangers with non-circular tube geometry and vortex generators. Parametric studies with vortex generators applied on heat exchangers models are necessary. The present work consists

Peripheral Neutrophil Activation and Extracellular Trap Formation in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Markers of neutrophil activation are increased in plasma during ALS, and markers of NET formation associate with ALS survival. ABSTRACT Objectives Peripheral neutrophil levels in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) inversely correlate with survival, suggesting a role for neutrophils in disease progression.

Numerical Simulation of Flow behind Vortex Generators

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2019
In this study, flow behind rectangular vane type vortex generators mounted on a flat plate, is numerically simulated using the immersed boundary (IB) method. In the present work, the direct forcing IB method is employed because of its simplicity and high

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

An Experimental Study on the Effect of Shape and Location of Vortex Generators Ahead of a Heat Exchanger

open access: yesAl-Khawarizmi Engineering Journal, 2012
An experimental study is carried out on the effect of vortex generators (Circular and square) on the flow and heat transfer at variable locations at (X = 0.5, 1.5, 2.5 cm) ahead of a heat exchanger with Reynolds number ranging from 62000< Re < 125000 and
