The development of passive flow control vortices [PDF]
Surface flow visualisation and Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) were used to investigate the flow-field of sub-boundary layer vane vortex generators (VVGs) and steady jet vortex generators (SJVGs) in a separated flow at 20m/s.

Contributions of the center vortices and vacuum domain in potentials between static sources [PDF]
In this paper, we study the role of the domain structure of the Yang Mills vacuum. The Casimir scaling and $N$-ality are investigated in the potentials between static sources in various representations for $SU(2)$ and $SU(3)$ gauge groups based on the ...

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

Echo-Enabled X-Ray Vortex Generation
A technique to generate high-brightness electromagnetic vortices with tunable topological charge at extreme ultraviolet and x-ray wavelengths is described. Based on a modified version of echo-enabled harmonic generation for free-electron lasers, the technique uses two lasers and two chicanes to produce high-harmonic microbunching of a relativistic ...

Performance of vortex generators in a Mach 2.5 low-bleed full scale 45-percent-internal-contraction axisymmetric inlet [PDF]
Steady-state and dynamic flow characteristics associated with two sets of vortex generators having different mixing criteria were determined. The inlet performance with and without these vortex generators is presented.
