Adaptive VP8 Steganography Based on Deblocking Filtering

Proceedings of the ACM Workshop on Information Hiding and Multimedia Security, 2019
In this paper, a novel deblocking filtering-based VP8 steganographic scheme is proposed. The unique aspect of this work and one that distinguishes it from the prior art is that we effectively exploit the characteristics of deblocking filtering. We propose to embed the secret messages by comparing the quantized discrete cosine transform coefficients ...

Biosynthesis and post-translational cleavage of vaccinia virus structural protein VP8

Virology, 1988
We have obtained antiserum against highly purified vaccinia virus structural protein VP8, a major DNA binding protein present in the viral core particle. The antiserum has been used to monitor the course of the biosynthesis of this protein. The protein can first be detected in extracts of infected cells at 4 hr postinfection (p.i.).

Detailed Comparative Analysis of VP8 and H.264

2012 IEEE International Symposium on Multimedia, 2012
VP8 has recently been offered by Google as an open video compression format in attempt to compete with the widely used H.264 video compression standard. This paper describes the major differences between VP8 and H.264 and provides detailed comparative evaluations through extensive experiments.

GPU-based VP8 encoding: Performance in native and virtualized environments

2016 International Conference on Telecommunications and Multimedia (TEMU), 2016
A key motivation behind the success of Cloud Computing is that virtualization allows significant energy and cost savings by sharing physical resources. Another source of savings in virtualized architectures is the use of h/w accelerators (e.g. GPUs, FPGAs).

Modeling VP8/WebM Encoded Video Traces

2012 Sixth UKSim/AMSS European Symposium on Computer Modeling and Simulation, 2012
In this paper, we present our research results in modeling video traces encoded with VP8/WebM codec. Our research results are based on our collection of more than 800 VP8 encoded video traces. We show in this paper that our simplified seasonal ARIMA (SAM) model provides a valid model for WebM encoded video traces regardless of their motion, texture ...

Cloning and Expression of Human Rotavirus Spike Protein, VP8*, in Escherichia coli

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2001
A system for the expression and purification of soluble VP8*, part of the human rotavirus (HRV) spike protein, was established by expressing VP8* as a fusion protein with glutathione S-transferase (GST). VP8 cDNA, from the Wa strain of HRV, was prepared by RT-PCR, cloned into a pUC18 plasmid, and inserted into a pGEX-4T-2 GST fusion vector. The GST-VP8*

Coding efficiency of VP8 and VP9 compression standards for high resolutions

2016 ELEKTRO, 2016
Last few years the interest of multimedia services has rapidly increased. This leads to requirements of quality assessment, especially in video domain. Compression together with transmission link imperfection are two main factors that influence the quality.

The VP8 video codec - overview and comparison to H.264/AVC

2011 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics -Berlin (ICCE-Berlin), 2011
VP8 is announced by Google as a royalty-free alternative to the H.264/AVC video codec, promising comparable picture quality, data rate and encoding speed. This paper compares the two codecs analysing the published statements and comparing them with results of our own experiments.

Serotype-specific epitope(s) present on the VP8 subunit of rotavirus VP4 protein

Journal of Virology, 1991
cDNA clones representing the VP8 and VP5 subunits of VP4 of symptomatic human rotavirus strain KU (VP7 serotype 1 and VP4 serotype 1A) or DS-1 (VP7 serotype 2 and VP4 serotype 1B) or asymptomatic human rotavirus strain 1076 (VP7 serotype 2 and VP4 serotype 2) were constructed and inserted into the pGEMEX-1 plasmid and expressed in Escherichia coli ...
