Deactivation behavior on VPO and VPO-Zr catalysts in the aldol condensation of methyl acetate and formaldehyde

open access: yesCatalysis Today, 2018
Improvement in activity for the Zr doped VPO catalyst appears to be a general observation in aldol condensation of methyl acetate and formaldehyde to methyl acrylate. The deactivation behavior significantly differs between VPO and VPO-Zr catalysts.

Effect of calcination temperature on the catalytic activity of VPO for aldol condensation of acetic acid and formalin

open access: yesChemical Engineering Journal, 2016
The effect of calcination temperature on the catalytic activity of VPO catalyst for one step synthesis acrylic acid with acetic acid and formalin was systematically studied using a fixed-bed tubular micro reactor. The influence of calcination temperature

Synthesis, characterization of VPO catalyst dispersed on mesoporous silica surface and catalytic activity for cyclohexane oxidation reaction

open access: yesMicroporous and Mesoporous Materials, 2016
A precipitation-deposition method in an organic medium was used to prepare vanadium phosphorus oxide (VPO) catalysts supported on SBA-15 and TUD-1. Oxidation of cyclohexane has been examined over mesoporous silica supported VPO catalyst.

VPO Transient Oxidation Kinetics

International Journal of Chemical Reactor Engineering, 2006
Transient and steady state reactor data for the partial oxidation of butane to maleic anhydride were collected in a fluid bed over DuPont commercial vanadium pyrophosphate catalyst (VPO) principally under butane rich, oxygen deficient operating conditions.

VPO transient lattice oxygen contribution

Catalysis Today, 2006
Abstract n -Butane partial oxidation to maleic anhydride is practiced commercially in several reactor types with vanadium phosphorous oxide (VPO) catalyst. DuPont operated a Circulating Fluidized Bed facility in which catalyst was shuttled between a net reducing zone (a transport bed) to a net oxidizing zone (air regenerator).

Attrition resistance of a VPO catalyst

Applied Catalysis A: General, 2010
The attrition propensity of used and fresh vanadium phosphorous oxide (VPO) catalyst subjected to mechanical stress in a gas cyclone and in a bubbling-fluidized bed with and without submerged gas jet has been investigated. Attrition models for the investigated sources of attrition have been adopted from literature.

International VPO Workshop: Preface

Applied Catalysis A: General, 2010
This special issue of Applied Catalysis highlights a research collaboration devoted to vanadium phosphorus oxide (VPO) catalysts from a very broad perspective including catalyst synthesis and characterization, reactor engineering and new applications beyond n-butane partial oxidation to maleic anhydride (MA).

Pressure Calcination of VPO Catalyst

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2007
Calcination and activation are critical steps in the transformation of vanadyl hydrogen phosphate hemihydrate (VPO precursorVOHPO4·0.5H2O) to vanadyl pyrophosphate (VPO catalyst(VO)2P2O7). Whereas many published kinetics studies for butane oxidation over VPO demonstrate the relationship between catalytic activity and reaction conditions, the ...

Re-oxidation kinetics of a VPO catalyst

Catalysis Today, 2002
Oxidation of vanadium pyrophosphate (VPO) to the orthophosphate was investigated by temperature programmed oxidation (TPO) and by weight gain measurements in a TGA unit as a model for the re-oxidation of a catalyst in a two-bed process in the partial oxidation of butane to maleic anhydride (MA).

The beneficial effect of cobalt on VPO catalysts

Catalysis Today, 2003
Abstract The addition of Co to VPO formulations improves the yield of n-butane to maleic anhydride. In this work, different modes of impregnation and two different organic cobalt salts were used. The equilibrated catalysts were characterized using XRD, 31 P SEM NMR, FT-IR and acetonitrile adsorption to evaluate Lewis acidity.
