A Novel Coordinated Control Strategy for VSG to Enhance Power Tracking Speed Without Degrading Inertia Support Capability

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
ABSTRACT The virtual synchronous generator (VSG), as a representative grid‐forming control method, has become a key technology in distributed renewable energy systems. However, there exists an inherent trade‐off between fast power reference tracking and high virtual inertia support in conventional VSG control.

Coordinated Planning of Flexibility Resources for HVDC‐Connected Renewable Base and Load Center: A CVaR‐Based Probabilistic Approach

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper proposes a conditional value‐at‐risk (CVaR)‐based coordinated planning framework to address the volatility and uncertainty in high voltage direct current (HVDC)‐interconnected systems. By jointly optimizing storage deployment, thermal retrofits, and reserve allocation, the method effectively quantifies and mitigates tail risks.

Accurate Harmonic Voltage Measurement Based on Series Resistive‐Capacitive Divider for Gas‐Insulated Switchgear

open access: yesIET Science, Measurement &Technology, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
A series resistive‐capacitive divider for harmonic voltage measurement of gas‐insulated switchgear was studied. It can step down the voltage while amplifying the proportion of harmonics in the total sensed voltage, thereby increasing the significant figure for the measurement and enabling the accurate measurement of high‐order, low‐amplitude harmonics.

HVDC Cable System Testing

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 10, Issue 6, Page 1349-1370, December 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper reviews the existing testing techniques for high voltage direct current (HVDC) cable systems, following as a backbone the structure of CIGRE Technical Brochure (TB) 852:2021 ‘Recommendations for testing DC extruded cable systems for power transmission at a rated voltage up to 800 kV’ because it has a fairly similar structure to ...

Harmonic Analysis of Transmission Scheme for Offshore Wind Farms Based on Diode Rectifier Unit

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2025.
This paper builds a general mathematical for the multiple rectifier circuit used in DRU, which is based on the 12‐pulse and 24‐pulse rectifier circuits, and analyzes the harmonics of DRU using different rectifier circuits before and after the installation of AC filters by an offshore wind farm integration project. ABSTRACT The diode rectifier unit (DRU)

A Categorization of Converter Station Controllers Within Multi-terminal DC Transmission Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
As more and more VSC-HVDC links are planned and commissioned, interconnection of neighboring links or connection to an existing link becomes a feasible step towards secure and reliable multi-terminal DC (MTDC) transmission systems.

Converter station selection method of urban VSC‐DC intertie for grid resilience enhancement

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 10, Issue 3, Page 581-594, June 2025.
Abstract The site selection of converter stations for voltage source converter‐based direct current (VSC‐DC) interties can significantly impact their control performance, particularly when both grid‐following control (GFL) and grid‐forming control (GFM) are configured.
