The common VWF single nucleotide variants c.2365A>G and c.2385T>C modify VWF biosynthesis and clearance

open access: yesBlood Advances, 2018
: Plasma levels of von Willebrand factor (VWF) vary considerably in the general population and this variation has been linked to several genetic and environmental factors. Genetic factors include 2 common single nucleotide variants (SNVs) located in VWF,

Biomimetic Nanoparticle Delivering Colchicine to Target Endothelial Inflammation for Atherosclerosis Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Platelet membrane‐coated layered double hydroxide nanoparticles were engineered to target inflamed endothelium at early‐stage atherosclerosis and enhance therapeutic efficacy. The biomimetic platform improves stability, immune escape, and inflamed vascular cell targeting, resulting in reduced oxidative stress and downregulated adhesion molecules.

Hemodynamic activation of von Willebrand factor in children with congenital heart diseases

open access: yesАкушерство, гинекология и репродукция
Quite complex and non-linear cellular and molecular mechanisms underlie hemostasis changes in patients with congenital heart diseases (CHD). Altered activity ratio between von Willebrand factor (vWF) and metalloproteinase ADAMTS-13 (a disintegrin and ...

Anifrolumab Treatment Leads to Rapid Reduction in Urinary Biomarkers of Intrarenal Inflammation in Lupus Nephritis: Results From the Phase 2 Randomized Trial

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Lupus nephritis (LN) is one of the most severe manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and is partially driven by type I interferon signaling. Anifrolumab, an approved treatment for patients with SLE, has been investigated in a phase 2 trial in patients with LN receiving standard therapy (TULIP‐LN, ClinicalTrials.gov identifier ...

Comparative Transcriptional Profiling of Key Macrophage and Fibroblast Subpopulations in Rheumatoid Arthritis–Associated Lung Disease

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) often involves extra‐articular complications, including interstitial lung disease (ILD) and/or pulmonary nodules. Transcriptomic profiling of lung tissue provides the opportunity to directly assess cell‐specific gene expression and corresponding pathway activation in different types of rheumatoid lung disease ...

Maternal blood proteomics during relapse of early preeclampsia

open access: yesАкушерство, гинекология и репродукция
Aim: to study the contribution of maternal blood endothelial proteins to developing relapse of early preeclampsia (ePE).Materials and Methods. A proteomic analysis of the peripheral blood of 137 pregnant women was performed. Clinically, three groups were

Quantitative Influence of ABO Blood Groups on Factor VIII and Its Ratio to von Willebrand Factor, Novel Observations from an ARIC Study of 11,673 Subjects.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
ABO blood groups are known to influence the plasma level of von Willebrand factor (VWF), but little is known about the relationship between ABO and coagulation factor VIII (FVIII). We analyzed the influence of ABO genotypes on VWF antigen, FVIII activity,

Harnessing blood clot as a native scaffold for orchestrating tissue repairs and regeneration

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
The blood clot, owing to its dynamic composition and unique microenvironment, holds significant yet underappreciated potential for tissue engineering. This review systematically summarizes the pathophysiology of clot formation, the key regulatory factors shaping its microenvironment, and its applications in both pre‐clinical and clinical settings ...

VWF springs into action [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Cell Biology, 2006
![Graphic][1] Extended organelle form (left) is needed for later correct function. CUTLER/ELSEVIERFollowing blood vessel injury, long strings of multimeric von Willebrand's factor (VWF) act as a scaffold for platelets to help staunch bleeding. The VWF strings, 100-μm long or more,

Commonalities of platelet dysfunction in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and underlying comorbidities

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1013-1028, April 2025.
Abstract Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is characterized by a lack of a specific targeted treatment and a complex, partially unexplored pathophysiology. Common comorbidities associated with HFpEF are hypertension, atrial fibrillation, obesity and diabetes.
