ABSTRACT Background Although NCCN guidelines recommend preoperative therapy for borderline resectable pancreatic cancer (BR‐PC), it is still unclear which regimen is better. The study objective was to elucidate the prognostic significance of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT) with gemcitabine/nab‐paclitaxel (GnP‐RT) compared to gemcitabine alone ...

Wada property in systems with delay [PDF]
Delay differential equations take into account the transmission time of the information. These delayed signals may turn a predictable system into chaotic, with the usual fractalization of the phase space. In this work, we study the connection between delay and unpredictability, in particular we focus on the Wada property in systems with delay.

Using National Database open data from 2014 to 2023, this nationwide study visualizes age‐, sex‐, and region‐specific trends in groin hernia surgery in Japan. Laparoscopic surgery, outpatient surgery, and manual reduction were analyzed to estimate lifetime surgical burden and patterns of emergency‐related healthcare utilization at the population level.

Aim In the GENESECT study, no significant gemcitabine (GEM) metabolism‐related germline genetic polymorphisms (GPs) were identified because approximately 70% of patients received combination therapy with nab‐paclitaxel, which has metabolic pathways different from GEM.

From local uncertainty to global predictions: Making predictions on fractal basins. [PDF]
In nonlinear systems long term dynamics is governed by the attractors present in phase space. The presence of a chaotic saddle gives rise to basins of attraction with fractal boundaries and sometimes even to Wada boundaries.

Post‐LECA Origin and Diversification of an Axonemal Outer Arm Dynein Motor
ABSTRACT Dyneins were present in the last eukaryotic common ancestor (LECA) and play key roles in eukaryotic biology. Axonemal dyneins form the inner and outer arms that power ciliary beating, and it has long been recognized that outer arms in some organisms contain two different heavy chain motors, whereas those from other species contain a third unit

After evaluating the compatibility of the GH analogue redalsomatropin alfa with approved doping control immunoassays for rhGH, it was implemented into the existing detection method for somatrogon employing affinity purification with GHR‐Fc‐conjugated magnetic beads, tryptic digestion, and LC‐HRMS/MS to allow for a specific and sensitive detection ...

Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene Cables for Sternal Closure in a Metal-Allergic Patient With Stanford Type A Acute Aortic Dissection: A Case Report. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Ultra‐high molecular weight polyethylene cables may provide a useful and effective non‐metallic alternative for sternal closure in patients with suspected or confirmed metal hypersensitivity, particularly in emergency cardiac surgery where preoperative allergy testing is not feasible.
