Reproducibility of airway wall thickness measurements
SPIE Proceedings, 2010Airway remodeling and accompanying changes in wall thickness are known to be a major symptom of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), associated with reduced lung function in diseased individuals. Further investigation of this disease as well as monitoring of disease progression and treatment effect demand for accurate and reproducible ...

Hollowing objects with uniform wall thickness
Computer-Aided Design, 2005Abstract In rapid prototyping, we can significantly reduce the building time and expensive RP material consumption by building a hollowed prototype instead of a solid model. Presented in the paper is a new method to hollow out solid objects with uniform wall thickness to speed up the part building processes in rapid prototyping systems.

Ventricular Wall Thickness in the Fetal Dog
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1979SUMMARY Ventricular wall thickness of 2150-to 60-day-old canine fetuses was determined by direct measurement with calipers. Measurements were made of the left and right ventricular walls and of the interventricular septum, perpendicular to the apico-basilar axis at the location just below the aortic valve, and midway between the coronary sulcus and the

Relaxation of Thick-Walled Cylinders and Spheres
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1982Using the nonlinear creep law proposed by Soderberg, closed-form solutions are derived for the relaxation of incompressible thick-walled spheres and cylinders in plane strain. These solutions involve series expressions which, however, converge very quickly. By simply ignoring these series expressions, extremely simple approximate solutions are obtained.

Gastric Wall Thickness in Sleeve Gastrectomy Patients: Thickness Variation of the Gastric Wall.
Surgical technology international, 2016The sleeve gastrectomy has been accepted as a primary bariatric procedure. One of the most feared complications is staple line leakage. It is important to use the right staple sizes to minimize the risk of leak. Knowledge of gastric thickness is important.

THICKNESSES. ARCHITECTURAL WALLS/SPACE CONSTRUCTION
SGEM International Multidisciplinary Scientific Conferences on SOCIAL SCIENCES and ARTS Proceedings, 2018Understood as a new project material, the system of walls/spaces is the result of an evolution and synthesis of three different wall conceptions and construction techniques. The first belongs to the Roman wall, a large and continuous mass that is transformed into the negative space of an inner volume.
