Abstract This study explores the quality of carbon reporting (QCR) by New Zealand (NZ) firms and its changes over time. It also explores the impact of QCR on the market reputation of firms. Using a sample of 300 company‐year observations between 2015 and 2020 from top listed firms of NZ, the study develops a 14‐item QCR index.

The Warburg Effect: Is it Always an Enemy?
The Warburg effect, also known as ‘aerobic’ glycolysis, describes the preference of cancer cells to favor glycolysis over oxidative phosphorylation for energy (adenosine triphosphate-ATP) production, despite having high amounts of oxygen and fully active mitochondria, a phenomenon first identified by Otto Warburg.

The RBR E3 ubiquitin ligase ARIH1, which is upregulated in colorectal cancer cells, promotes cell growth and metastasis and correlates with an unfavorable CRC prognosis. Mechanistically, ARIH1 catalyzes K63‐linked ubiquitination of PHB1, enhancing the interaction between PHB1 and Akt.

Association between individual Warburg‐related proteins and prognosis in colorectal cancer
We previously showed that Warburg subtyping (low/moderate/high), based on the expression of six glycolytic proteins and transcriptional regulators [glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1), pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2), lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA), monocarboxylate ...

Toon3D: Seeing Cartoons from New Perspectives [PDF]
We recover the underlying 3D structure from images of cartoons and anime depicting the same scene. This is an interesting problem domain because images in creative media are often depicted without explicit geometric consistency for storytelling and creative expression-they are only 3D in a qualitative sense.

A unique interfacial conversion concept is proposed to establish robust cathode electrolyte interphase for stabilizing fluorinated polyanionic cathodes in aqueous electrolytes. In a typical case, the conformal Al2O3 sacrificial layer is predeposited on high‐voltage sodium vanadium oxy‐fluorophosphates cathode, which can progressively react with trace ...

An electrochemically‐driven reconstruction strategy is proposed to convert low‐crystalline imine‐linked polymers into highly crystalline, structurally ordered COFs with enhanced HER activity, which offers new insights into the structural modulation of COFs and facilitates the design of more advanced metal‐free electrocatalysts.

A novel HC@CoS2/CoS/NC composite with optimized heterointerfaces is successfully synthesized as an ultrastable and fast‐charging anode material for SIBs. This composite features a 3D architecture, characterized by highly dispersed CoS2/CoS/NC nanoparticles embedded within honeycomb carbon nanosheets.

Emergent behaviour and phase transitions in spatially distributed multi-cellular metabolic networks [PDF]
Overflow metabolism is a ubiquitous phenomenon whereby cells in aerobic conditions excrete byproducts of glycolysis, such as lactate or acetate, into the medium in a seemingly wasteful and polluting fashion. Whilst overflow may confer microbes a fitness advantage by allowing them to overcome a finite oxidative capacity, its occurrence in higher ...

A quasi‐solid‐state fluoride ion battery with various practical qualities is implemented by a salt‐polymer‐ceramic composite electrolyte. β‐PbSnF4, as an active filler, can greatly improve the electrochemical stability and conductivity of the electrolyte, opening up new possibilities for cutting‐edge electrolyte design for fluoride ion batteries ...
