Effect of Forming Temperature on Linear Roll Forming of 6011 Aluminum Sheets: An Analysis Based on Experimental Design

open access: yesJournal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing
This study analyzed the effect of forming temperature on the roller hemming process of AA6011-T4 aluminum alloy sheets, using a 2K factorial design to also evaluate the influence of roller diameter and flange height. A total of 24 experimental tests were

Research on Al-alloy sheet forming formability during warm/hot sheet hydroforming based on elliptical warm bulging test

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
An elliptical warm/hot sheet bulging test under different temperatures and pressure rates was carried out to predict Al-alloy sheet forming limit during warm/hot sheet hydroforming.

A Microstructure-Integrated Ductile Fracture Criterion and FE-Based Framework for Predicting Warm Formability of AA7075 Sheets

open access: yesMetals
Variations in the warm formability of AA7075 sheets are primarily attributed to differences in precipitate morphology resulting from distinct thermal histories.

Effect of Process Variables on Interface Friction Characteristics in Strip Drawing of AA 5182 Alloy and Its Formability in Warm Deep Drawing

open access: yesJournal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing, 2023
Warm forming is widely used to enhance the formability of aluminum alloy sheets. In warm deep drawing, the process variables significantly affect frictional characteristics at the tool–blank interface.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Properties of B-pillar made of aluminium 7075 in warm forming process

open access: yesProcedia Manufacturing, 2019
This paper presents the properties of warm forming of a B-pillar from 7075 aluminum alloy in state T6. Based on preliminary mathematical modeling, it was determined that the greatest strains and risk of aluminum cracking occur in the foot of B-pillar ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Decreased cold‐sensing function of the transient receptor potential channel TRPM8 from tailed amphibians

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Despite frogs avoiding low temperatures, examination of four salamander species revealed that none avoided cold and all possessed cold tolerance. Functional analysis of TRPM8, a cold sensor, showed that all salamander TRPM8s had lost their cold sensitivity.
