How the Carrier Mobility and Seebeck Coefficient of Doped Semiconducting Polymers Are Controlled by Counterion Interactions and Mesoscale Order

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional doping of P3HT with F4TCNQ results in poor charge transport. However, when F4TCNQ is exchanged with LiTFSI, the transport characteristics are greatly enhanced. We find the increase in charge transport is directly related to an increase in the mesoscale ordering of P3HT, resulting in longer and better‐connected transport pathways.

Water Absorption and Thickness Swelling Properties of Silica Aerogel Infused Sugar Palm Fiber/Polyester Composites

open access: yesInternational Journal of Recent Technology and Engineering, 2019
Using natural fibres as reinforcements in composites provides an inexpensive green alternate to its synthetic counterpart. In a similar scope, to enhance the usability of sugar palm fibres (SPF) in composites, various weight percentages (1% to 5%) of silica aerogel (SA) were infused in SPF reinforced unsaturated polyester composites.

Water absorption and thickness swelling behavior of almond ( Prunus amygdalus L.) shell particles and coconut ( Cocos nucifera ) fiber hybrid epoxy-based biocomposite

open access: yesScience and Engineering of Composite Materials, 2014
Abstract In this research, the suitability of almond shell and coconut fiber as a renewable agricultural residue for the manufacturing of biocomposite to be used as a replacement of wood was investigated. The use of agriculture waste as a reinforcement in composite may result in several environmental and socioeconomic benefits.

Engineering Intelligent Graphene Oxide‐Cellulose Membranes: Suppressing Thermal Runaway for a Safer Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel thermos‐responsive hydroxypropyl cellulose/graphene oxide (HPC/GO) composite membrane is fabricated for reversible temperature‐gated ion transport in aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. Enabled by LCST‐driven structural transition, unimpeded ion diffusion at room temperature delivers high capacity, while elevated temperature suppresses transport; full ...

Primjena umjetne neuronske mreže za predviđanje utjecaja dodatka parafina na upojnost vode i debljinsko bubrenje MDF-a

open access: yesDrvna industrija, 2019
In this study, water absorption and thickness swelling values of medium density fiberboard (MDF) were modelled by artificial neural networks (ANN). MDF panels were produced with different rates of paraffin (0.0-control, 0.5, 1 and 1.5 %) at different press temperatures (170 and 190 °C).

Efficient Membranes Made of a Nanohybrid of Fluorine‐Doped Carbon Dots Coupled With Metal Organic Framework for High‐Performance Vanadium Redox Flow Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone)‐based hybrid membrane is fabricated with fluorine‐doped carbon dot (FCD) and functionalized metal organic framework (MIL−101−NH2). The novel design reduces unwanted ion crossover while maintaining a sufficient proton transport pathway.

Modelling of dimensional stability of fiber reinforced composite materials [PDF]

open access: yes
Various methods of predicting the expansion and diffusion properties of composite laminates are reviewed. The prediction equations for continuous fiber composites can be applied to SMC composites as the effective fiber aspect ratio in the latter is large
