Treatment of Cyanide-Free Wastewater from Brass Electrodeposition with EDTA by Electrodialysis: Evaluation of Underlimiting and Overlimiting Operations

open access: yesMembranes, 2020
Growing environmental concerns have led to the development of cleaner processes, such as the substitution of cyanide in electroplating industries and changes in the treatment of wastewaters.

Numerical study on propagation mechanism and bio-medicine applications of plasma jet

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2016
In this study, the propagation mechanism of plasma jet and some bio-medical applications are investigated by two-dimensional numerical model. The key equations of plasma physics and chemistry related with plasma jet are firstly introduced. The simulation

Methane release from warming-induced hydrate dissociation in the West Svalbard continental margin: timing, rates, and geological controls [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Hundreds of plumes of methane bubbles, first observed in 2008, emanate from an area of the seabed off West Svalbard that has become 1°C warmer over the past 30 years. The distribution of the plumes, lying close to and upslope from the present upper limit

KINETIC FEATURES OF MECHANOCHEMICAL DISSOCIATION OF WATER

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Нефть и газ, 2016
In this work the hypothesis about the possibility of mechanochemical dissociation of water, subjected to mechanical stress, is experimentally confirmed. In the work the checkout and comparison of data, obtained from the kinetic characteristics of cluster

Spatially segregated sites on Mo/V-dual-tailored Ru metallic glass nanosheets accelerate alkaline hydrogen evolution

open access: yesNano Research
Alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is a cornerstone for efficient green hydrogen production via anion exchange membrane water electrolysis (AEMWE), yet suffering from sluggish water dissociation kinetics. Ruthenium (Ru)-based catalysts exhibit Pt-

Toward the Mechanism of Ionic Dissociation in Water

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2012
We investigate the solvent effects leading to dissociation of sodium chloride in water. Thermodynamic analysis reveals dissociation to be driven energetically and opposed entropically, with the loss in entropy due to an increasing number of solvent molecules entering the highly coordinated ionic solvation shell.

Water in the 2003 Virginia General Assembly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The 2003 Virginia General Assembly convened on January 8 and adjourned on February 22, with a reconvened (“veto”) session on April 2. The legislature considered 3277 measures; 1585 passed and 1692 failed. The legislature also considered amendments to the

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Enhanced Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution Activity Driven by the Synergy Between Surface Vacancies and Cocatalysts: Surface Reaction Matters

open access: yesAdvanced Science
The incorporation of defects and cocatalysts is known to be effective in improving photocatalytic activity, yet their coupled contribution to the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution process has not been well‐explored. In this study, We demonstrate that the
