Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Hydrate Formation/Dissociation in (Natural Gas + Water + Diesel Oil) Emulsion Systems

open access: yesEnergies, 2013
Hydrate formation/dissociation of natural gas in (diesel oil + water) emulsion systems containing 3 wt% anti-agglomerant were performed for five water cuts: 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 vol%.

Promoted Disappearance of CO2 Hydrate Self-Preservation Effect by Surfactant SDS

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
The capture, storage and utilization of CO2 through hydrate-related technology is a promising approach to addressing the global warming issue. Dissociation is required after the transportation of CO2 gas in the form of a self-preserving hydrate. In order

Controlling water dissociation on an ultrathin MgO film by tuning film thickness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Periodic density-functional theory calculations at the single-molecule level were used to study dissociation of water on ultrathin MgO films with varying thickness deposited on the Ag(100) surface. The enhanced chemical activity for water dissociation on

Threshold collision induced dissociation of protonated water clusters

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2023
We report threshold collision induced dissociation experiments on protonated water clusters thermalized at low temperature for sizes n = 19–23. Fragmentation cross sections are recorded as a function of the collision energy and analyzed with a statistical model.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Methane Hydrate Formation and Dissociation in Sandstone with Dual Water Saturation

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
This paper reports formation and dissociation patterns of methane hydrate in sandstone. Magnetic resonance imaging spatially resolved hydrate growth patterns and liberation of water during dissociation. A stacked core set-up using Bentheim sandstone with

Autocatalytic and cooperatively-stabilized dissociation of water on a stepped platinum surface

open access: yes, 2012
Water-metal interfaces are ubiquitous and play a key role in many chemical processes, from catalysis to corrosion. Whereas water adlayers on atomically flat transition metal surfaces have been investigated in depth, little is known about the chemistry of

A model for pH determination during alcoholic fermentation of a grape must by Saccharomyces cerevisiae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A model to predict accurately pH evolution during alcoholic fermentation of must by Saccharomyces cerevisiae is proposed for the first time. The objective at least is to determine if the pH measurement could be used for predictive control.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.
