Effects of liquid height on gas holdup in air–water bubble column
Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2016Abstract Effects of the initial liquid height, H 0 , of air–water bubble columns on the total gas holdup, α G , were investigated in this study. Systematic databases of α G in a rectangular and a cylindrical column of the hydraulic diameter D H of 200 mm were obtained. An image processing method was applied to high-speed video images of the

Oil reservoirs with low permeability and porosity that are in the middle and late exploitation periods in China’s onshore oil fields are mostly in the high-water-cut production stage. This stage is associated with severely non-uniform local-velocity flow profiles and dispersed-phase concentration (of oil droplets) in oil-water two-phase flow, which ...

A three-channel conductance probe has been proposed to measure the water holdup in oil-in-water flows with low-flow rate and high-water cut. The probe consists of three pairs of arc shape electrodes with center body. The geometry of the electrodes in each channel has been optimized using the finite-element method.

Oil-water two-phase flow is commonly encountered in petroleum extraction and transportation processes. Due to the slip effect, the oil-water two-phase flow in oil wells exhibits extremely complex and random fluid dynamic behaviors, posing significant challenges for measuring the water holdup overall flow patterns.

Permanent dynamic and static water holdup measuring device for ground wellhead
Measurement Science and TechnologyAbstract To adapt to the reality that a large number of wells are dispersed in the oilfield and the measured output fluid inside the wells contains less gas, a permanent dynamic and static water holdup measuring device for ground wellhead (PDSWHMD_GW) is designed, and a phase holdup system based on PDSWHMD_GW is developed for different ...
