Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Transferring Water in the American West: 1987-2005 [PDF]
Rising urban and environmental demand for water has created growing pressure to re-allocate water from traditional agricultural uses. Water markets are powerful institutions for facilitating this re-allocation, yet the evolution of water markets has been

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Movements on Water Surfaces [PDF]
I HAVE often wondered what is the real explanation of the following observation. If on a bath of soapy water a skin is allowed to collect on the surface, and then lumps of soapy lather be allowed to drop from one's hands on to it, the skin will crack in all directions, radiating from the point where the skin was first pierced, and this will continue ...

LONGSHORE WATER AND SEDIMENT MOVEMENT
The mean sediment transport rate obtained by using six known longshore transport formulae3 for which the input variables are determined consistently3 is used as best estimate of the transport. A good comparison is obtained when this package deal approach is compared with a prototype situation where the transport rates are inferred from quarterly ...

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.
