Creation of a ground water quality index for an open municipal landfill area [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Environmental indices are an example of index which are used to access the quantitative environmental matters in quantitative. The utilization rate of ground water as a source of clean water supply is still high especially in the areas which are lacking ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Assessment of Ground Water Quality Using Fuzzy Based Water Quality Index

open access: yes, 2022
Ground water is a vital source of fresh water in both urban and rural regions of the world. In Kerala, ground water meets the drinking needs of more than 60% population. Thrissur is the central district of Kerala, with a special well culture. Mostly each and every home has a dug well and ground water is the major source of drinking water in the ...

Studies of Relation Between Turbidity and Refractive Indeks of Bottled Water in the Area of Banda Aceh by Using Interferometer Murty Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Bottled water is clean water ready to drink quickly without cooking however, it is not all of the bottled water have a good quality. The quality of water can be observed from the optical properties of water, such as clarity and refractive index.

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Fervença river water quality evaluation – water quality index (WQI)

open access: yes, 2022
Water is fundamental for the survival of every specie on planet Earth and is a crucial element of the environment. Water bodies, however, have degraded over time due to various natural and mainly human-polluting activities. As a result, water quality control is required to monitor and reduce polluting agents while maintaining river health. The adoption

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.
