Combining transient dynamics and logistic‐asymptotic growth to study the recovery of two seabird populations after rat eradication

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study examines the demographic dynamics of two seabird populations on Tromelin Island, 15 years after the eradication of brown rats. The results indicate that these populations are in good health and are expected to continue growing until breeding sites are saturated in about a century.

Suitability of water quality index methods for assessing groundwater quality in the Ganges River basin area

open access: yesH2Open Journal, 2022
This study considered three different water quality indices (WQIs) for groundwater data collected from the middle-west part of Bangladesh, and the quantitative results were justified with the globally accepted water quality guidelines.

Network topology drives population temporal variability in experimental habitat networks

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
Habitat patches connected by dispersal pathways form habitat networks. We explored how network topology affects population outcomes in laboratory experiments using a model species (Daphnia carinata). Central habitat nodes in complex lattice networks exhibited lower temporal variability in population sizes, suggesting they support more stable ...

Effectiveness of Water Quality Index for Monitoring Malaysian River Water Quality

open access: yesPolish Journal of Environmental Studies, 2016
The Skudai River has experienced a general decline in water quality over the last several years due to agricultural practices, economic development, and other human activities in the river catchment. The spatial trend of water quality index (WQI) and its sub-indexes are important for determining the locations of major pollutant sources that contribute ...

occumb: An R package for site occupancy modeling of eDNA metabarcoding data

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study introduces a new R package, occumb, for the convenient application of site occupancy modeling using environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding data. We outline a data analysis workflow, including data setup, model fitting, model assessment, and comparison of potential study settings based on model predictions, all of which can be performed using

EVALUATION OF WATER QUALITY OF WAY KURIPAN’S RIVER USING WATER QUALITY INDEX TOOL

open access: yesSriwijaya Journal of Environment, 2017
The aim of this study is to analyze the water quality of the Way Kuripan River based on the Water Quality Index (WQI) calculation method that is developed by the Malaysian Department of Environment (DOE). Water samples were taken from five sample points (

WATER QUALITY INDEX WITH MISSING PARAMETERS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Research in Engineering and Technology, 2013
This paper presents the efficient modifications in calculating formula of water quality index. Water quality index provides us a single number which expresses overall water quality at a certain location and time which is based on several quality parameters.

Extracting Additional Information From Biotic Index Samples [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Macroinvertebrates were collected from a small midwestern stream over a 3-year period as part of a non-point source pollution study. Temporal and spatial variability in standard biotic index values (BIs) were computed and compared with variability ...
