Extensions of Watson’s theorem and the Ramanujan–Guinand formula
Ramanujan provided several results involving the modified Bessel function [Formula: see text] in his Lost Notebook. One of them is the famous Ramanujan–Guinand formula, equivalent to the functional equation of the non-holomorphic Eisenstein series on SL[Formula: see text]. Recently, this formula was generalized by Dixit, Kesarwani, and Moll.

Weak calibers and the Scott-Watson theorem [PDF]
Notions of weak caliber, feebly compact space and almost metacompact space are recalled and generalized to a form related to a cardinal \(\kappa\). It is proved that, for a regular cardinal, every topological space is weakly \(\kappa\)-compact if it has weak caliber \(\kappa \), is feebly \(\kappa\)-compact and is almost \(\kappa\)-metacompact.

Erdős-Selfridge Theorem for Nonmonotone CNFs [PDF]
In an influential paper, Erdős and Selfridge introduced the Maker-Breaker game played on a hypergraph, or equivalently, on a monotone CNF. The players take turns assigning values to variables of their choosing, and Breaker’s goal is to satisfy the CNF ...

Watson's theorem and electromagnetism in K→ππ decay [PDF]
We consider what constraints unitarity and CPT invariance yield on the strong and electromagnetic phases entering K -> pi pi decay. In particular, we show that the relative size of the electromagnetically-induced changes in the I=0 and I=2 phase shifts in the two--pion final state do not depend on the explicit coupling to the pi^+ pi^- gamma channel ...

A ZPP^NP[1] Lifting Theorem [PDF]
The complexity class ZPP^{NP[1]} (corresponding to zero-error randomized algorithms with access to one NP oracle query) is known to have a number of curious properties.

Galton-Watson processes and Kersten-Stigum theorem [PDF]
openIn questa tesi si tratta dei processi di Galton-Watson come strumenti stocastici di studio delle popolazioni, e se ne analizzano le principali proprietà, fino al teorema di Kersten-Stigum, un raffinato risultato che dà condizioni necessarie e ...

Advice Lower Bounds for the Dense Model Theorem [PDF]
We prove a lower bound on the amount of nonuniform advice needed by black-box reductions for the Dense Model Theorem of Green, Tao, and Ziegler, and of Reingold, Trevisan, Tulsiani, and Vadhan.

Large deviations for i.i.d. replications of the total progeny of a Galton–Watson process
The Galton–Watson process is the simplest example of a branching process. The relationship between the offspring distribution, and, when the extinction occurs almost surely, the distribution of the total progeny is well known.

Fixed points via a generalized local commutativity
Let g:X→X. The concept of a semigroup of maps which is nearly commutative at g is introduced. We thereby obtain new fixed point theorems for functions with bounded orbit(s) which generalize a recent theorem by Huang and Hong, and results by Jachymski ...
