Some limit theorems for the critical Galton–Watson branching processes

open access: yesUkrains’kyi Matematychnyi Zhurnal, 2023
UDC 519.21 We consider critical Galton–Watson processes starting from a random number of particles and determine the effect of the mean value of the initial state on the asymptotic state of the process. For processes starting from a large number of particles and satisfying the condition(S),we prove the limit theorem similar to the result of W.

Characterizations of Ideals in Intermediate C-Rings A(X) via the A-Compactifications of X

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2013
Let X be a completely regular topological space. An intermediate ring is a ring A(X) of continuous functions satisfying C*(X)⊆A(X)⊆C(X). In Redlin and Watson (1987) and in Panman et al. (2012), correspondences 𝒵A and ℨA are defined between ideals in A(X)

The motivational peculiarities of bribe-takers

open access: yesSHS Web of Conferences, 2018
Criminology (as the scientific study of criminal behaviour on the individual and social level) and psychology (as the science, which seeks to understand individuals and groups) pay special attention to motivation – a theoretical construction, used to ...

On a rigidity result for Kolmogorov-type operators

open access: yesBruno Pini Mathematical Analysis Seminar
Let D be a bounded open subset of ℝN and let z0 be a point of D. Assume that the Newtonian potential of D is proportional outside D to the potential of a mass concentrated at z0. Then D is a Euclidean ball centred at z0. This theorem, proved by Aharonov,

Near-threshold pion production in diproton reactions with polarised beams and target at ANKE-COSY

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2012
An extensive experimental study of near-threshold pion production in diproton reactions is underway at the ANKE-COSY spectrometer (Jülich). The programme is aimed at isolating the four-nucleon-pion contact interaction term appearing in the XPT expansions

The Critical Galton-Watson Process Without Further Power Moments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we prove a conditional limit theorem for a critical Galton-Watson branching process {Z_n ; n ≥ 0} with offspring generating function s + (1 − s)L((1 − s)^−1), where L(x) is slowly varying. In contrast to a well-known theorem of Slack (1968),

A generalization of the Watson theorem

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1973
Abstract We prove that the difference between the phase of a form factor and the phase shift of the relevant partial scattering amplitude is bounded in terms of inelasticity.

Applications of extended Watson's summation theorem

open access: yesTURKISH JOURNAL OF MATHEMATICS, 2018
Summary: In this research paper, several interesting applications of the extended classical summation theorem are given. As special cases, we recover several known results available in the literature.

Edge‐Based Discretizations on Triangulations in Any Dimension, With Special Attention to Four‐Dimensional Space

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
This article provides important geometric formulas for node‐centered, edge‐based schemes in any number of dimensions. These formulas are noteworthy, as they do not require the explicit formation of dual regions. We prove several key geometric results, with a particular focus on the four‐dimensional case, due to potential space‐time applications ...

Robust Tests of Forecast Accuracy for Factor‐Augmented Regressions With an Application to the Novel EA‐MD‐QD Dataset

open access: yesJournal of Applied Econometrics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present four novel tests of equal predictive accuracy and encompassing á Pitarakis (2023, 2025) for factor‐augmented regressions. Factors are estimated using cross‐section averages (CAs) of grouped series and our theoretical findings are empirically relevant: asymptotic normality, robustness to an overspecification of the number of factors,
