Slingshot Resonance for Ocean Wave Energy Conversion [PDF]
The slingshot effect and its application to converting ocean wave energy are discussed. It is shown that, owing to the large inertia transported by ocean waves and their periodicity, the slingshot effect can result in the transmission of significant kinetic energy to a puck colliding elastically with a pusher plate driven by ocean wave motion.

Ocean energy is one potential renewable energy alternative to fossil fuels that has a more significant power generation due to its better predictability and availability. In order to harness this source, wave energy converters (WECs) have been devised and used over the past several years to generate as much energy and power as is feasible.

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Wave types and energy conversion of impulse waves generated by landslides into mountain reservoirs
Subaerial landslides sliding into shallow water are physically modeled in a three-dimensional wave basin. The generated impulse waves are highly nonlinear, and a large-scale splash zone is formed above the waves.
