Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Alfvén Wave Mode Conversion in Neutron Star Magnetospheres: A Semianalytic Approach

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We write down the force-free electrodynamics equations in dipole coordinates and solve for axisymmetric normal modes corresponding to Alfvénic perturbations in the magnetosphere of a neutron star.

Design of Parabolic Off-Axis Reflector Optical System for Large Aperture Single Star Simulators

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This study proposes a parabolic off-axis reflective optical system design method to reduce the wave aberration of the optical system of a large aperture single star simulator and improve the optical system’s imaging quality.

CONNECTION OF ADDITIONAL PULSAR EMISSION COMPONENTS IN THE CRAB WITH THE RESONANCE REFLECTION FROM A NEUTRON STAR [PDF]

open access: yesRadio Physics and Radio Astronomy, 2018
Purpose: The subject of the paper is discussion of reflected radiation from the neutron star surface. Such radiation, as was shown earlier by S. V. Trofymenko and one of the authors, occurs when reflects the radiation of relativistic positrons flying ...

Gravitational Wave Background from Population III Stars [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2007
We estimate the gravitational wave (GW) background from Population III (Pop III) stars using the results from our hydrodynamic simulations (Suwa et al. 2007). We calculate gravitational waveforms from matter motions and anisotropic neutrino emissions for single Pop III stars.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

A Gravitational-Wave Perspective on Neutron-Star Seismology

open access: yesUniverse, 2021
We provide a bird’s-eye view of neutron-star seismology, which aims to probe the extreme physics associated with these objects, in the context of gravitational-wave astronomy.

Surface Brightness Gradients Produced by the Ring Waves of Star Formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We compute surface brightness profiles of galactic disks for outwardly propagating waves of star formation with a view to investigate the stellar populations in ring galaxies. We consider two mechanisms which can create outwardly propagating star forming

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Darwin-Riemann Problems in Newtonian Gravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In this paper, we have reviewed the present status of the theory of equilibrium configurations of compact binary star systems in Newtonian gravity. Evolutionary processes of compact binary star systems due to gravitational wave emission can be divided ...
