Self-calibration for transmitted wavefront measurements

Applied Optics, 2007
Micro-optic components and subsystems are becoming increasingly important in optical sensors, communications, data storage, and many other diverse applications. To adequately predict the performance of the final system, it is important to understand the element's effect on the wavefront as it propagates through the system. The wavefront can be measured

Subaperture stitching for measurement of freeform wavefront

Applied Optics, 2015
A method based on subaperture stitching for measurement of a freeform wavefront is proposed and applied to wavefronts calculated from the slope data acquired using a scanning Shack Hartmann sensor (SHS). The entire wavefront is divided into a number of subapertures with overlapping zones.

LADARWave Wavefront Measurement in Normal Eyes

Journal of Refractive Surgery, 2004
ABSTRACT PURPOSE: We evaluated the correlation of Alcon LADARWave wavefront measurements with clinical refraction and corneal topography. METHODS: In a retrospective, non-comparative case series, 60 eyes (30 patients) of healthy individuals evaluated by preoperative examination for refractive surgery were enrolled (manifest sphere, -

Absolute calibration of a Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor for measurements of wavefronts

Photonic Instrumentation Engineering VI, 2019
A high-quality flat wave front is usually used to calibrate the Shach-Hartmann wave-front sensors. The article discusses the possibility of calibrating sensors with spherical wave fronts. Special attention is paid to the consideration of calibration in standard laboratory conditions.

Wavefront measurement with synthesizing method

SPIE Proceedings, 2000
This paper discussed the test of a wavefront with large aperture using synthetic wavefront method. This method means the whole tested wavefront was divided into a limited numbers of sub-apertures and Moire fringe moving was used to measure the average slopes of wavefront on the sub-apertures and then the whole wavefront was synthesized. The paper dealt

Wavefront-coded phase measuring deflectometry for the all-focused measurement

Optics Letters, 2022
Phase measuring deflectometry is a powerful measuring method for complex optical surfaces, which captures the reflected fringe images encoded on the screen under the premise of focusing the measured specular surface. Due to the limited depth of field of the camera, the captured images and the measured surface cannot be focused at the same time.

Iterative wavefront reconstruction for strong turbulence using Shack–Hartmann wavefront sensor measurements

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2021
An iterative wavefront reconstruction method using Shack–Hartmann wavefront sensor (SHWFS) measurements is presented in this paper. A new cost function for the wavefront reconstruction problem is derived and the solution is obtained iteratively using the gradient descent method.

Traceable measurements with wavefront sensors

SPIE Proceedings, 2005
Wavefront sensors, particularly those of the Hartmann-Shack type are now available in commercial form from several manufacturers. They have found increasing use in medical and industrial applications and, for consistent measurements over a range of instruments and measurement situations, traceability of measurement is essential.

Evaluation of refractive error measurements of the WaveScan WaveFront system and the Tracey Wavefront aberrometer

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2003
To evaluate the accuracy and repeatability of the WaveScan WavePrint system and the Tracey wavefront aberrometer in measuring refractive errors in phakic eyes.Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA.Using subjective manifest refraction (MR) as the standard, the spherical equivalent (SE), sphere, and cylinder were compared ...

The Theoretical Effect of Measured Wavefront Diameter on Estimating Peripheral Wavefront Data

Journal of Refractive Surgery, 2004

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: To compare the difference between wavefront data measured in the periphery and that calculated from estimations using a smaller measured region.

METHODS: A total of 32 eyes were measured using the Alcon LADARWave aberrometer (Alcon Laboratories Ine, Fort Worth, Tex).
