Kolmogorov-Arnold networks modeling of wall pressure wavenumber-frequency spectra under turbulent boundary layers

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters
The empirical models for wavenumber-frequency spectra of wall pressure are broadly used in the fast prediction of aerodynamic and hydrodynamic noise. However, it needs to fit the parameter using massive data and is only used for limited cases.

High-Wavenumber Raman Analysis

open access: yes, 2022
Raman spectra are molecule specific, and their peaks in the fingerprint region (200-2000 cm−1) are often sufficient for material identification. High-wavenumber signals (> 2000 cm−1) are rare in inorganic material but rich in organic materials containing light hydrogen atoms.

Wavelengths of the 3d6(5D)4s a6D - 3d6(5D)4p y6P Multiplet of Fe II (UV 8)

open access: yes, 2011
We investigate the wavenumber scale of Fe I and Fe II lines using new spectra recorded with Fourier transform spectroscopy and using a re-analysis of archival spectra.

Characterization of X-ray diffraction intensity function from a biological molecule for single particle imaging

open access: yesBiophysics and Physicobiology, 2019
An attainable structural resolution of single particle imaging is determined by the characteristics of X-ray diffraction intensity, which depend on the incident X-ray intensity density and molecule size.

Free Unstable Modes and Massive Bodies in Saturn's Outer B Ring

open access: yes, 2010
Voyager images and Cassini occultation data have previously shown that the behavior of the outer edge of Saturn's massive B ring is determined only in part by a static response to the 2:1 inner Lindblad resonance with Mimas.

Expansion of Output Spatial Extent in the Wavenumber Domain Algorithms for Near-Field 3-D MIMO Radar Imaging

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Microwave camera provides 3-D high-resolution radar images at video frame rates, enabling the capture of dynamic target features. Multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) array-based 3-D radar imaging system requires fewer antennas, which effectively ...

Inhomogeneity-induced wavenumber diffusion

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Mechanics
Inertia–gravity waves are scattered by background flows as a result of Doppler shift by a non-uniform velocity. In the Wentzel–Kramers–Brillouin regime, the scattering process reduces to a diffusion in spectral space. Other inhomogeneities that the waves encounter, such as density variations, also cause scattering and spectral diffusion.

Optimized variational Boussinesq modelling; part 1: Broad-band waves over flat bottom [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The Variational Boussinesq Model (VBM) for waves above a layer of ideal fluid conserves mass, momentum, energy, and has decreased dimensionality compared to the full problem.

Wavenumber‐4 patterns of the total electron content over the low latitude ionosphere

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2008
The global ionospheric maps (GIMs) produced by JPL are used to investigate the longitudinal structure of the low latitude ionosphere. As a proxy of the ionization parameter at low latitudes, the latitudinally integrated total electron content (ITEC) is ...
