We report on a polarisation independent S-band RSOA for WDM-PON applications for the first time. Operation at 1.25Gbit/s over the entire S-band is demonstrated in TO-packaged devices with a path loss capability of ≫25dB.

Overlay of broadcasting signal in a WDM-PON
2006 Optical Fiber Communication Conference and the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference, 2006We demonstrate an overlay method for broadcasting signal transmission in a wavelength division multiplexed-passive optical network. We used a low noise broadband light source based on mutually injected Fabry-Perot laser diodes to increase the transmission capacity.
