Three Generations of NARCliM: Evaluation of Precipitation, Temperature and Their Extremes Over the CORDEX Australasia Domain

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 7, 15 June 2026.
The NSW and Australian Regional Climate Modelling Version 2.0 (NARCliM2.0) builds on NARCliM1.0 and 1.5 to deliver improved regional climate simulations. This study provides the first comprehensive evaluation of NARCliM2.0 against its predecessors, assessing individual model skill in reproducing mean and extreme climate.

Simultaneous Type‐0 and Type‐I Optical Parametric Oscillation in Submicron Poled Thin‐Film Lithium Niobate

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 11, 13 June 2026.
Backward optical parametric oscillation is realized in a submicron‐poled thin‐film lithium niobate microring. By engineering the quasi‐phase‐matching condition, both type‐0 and type‐I degenerate oscillation emerge in the same device and are selectively accessed through temperature tuning, providing a versatile on‐chip platform for polarization‐diverse ...

Effects of weak input side mode suppression ratio and output filtration on the intensity noise of a self-seeded gain switched optical pulses at 2.5 GHz [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Mode partition noise is shown to be a cause for concern in terms of the intensity noise induced on a self-seeded gain-switched pulse when filtering is used to increase the side mode suppression ratio (SMSR) of the output signal to >30 dB.

Increased Endurance of Nonvolatile Photonics Enabled by Nanostructured Phase‐Change Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 31, 2 June 2026.
Tapered and segmented islands of the phase‐change material (PCM) antimony selenide (Sb2Se3) integrated on silicon microring resonators enable ultra‐low‐loss, high‐endurance, non‐volatile photonic tuning. The nanostructured PCM design suppresses interfacial scattering and thermal stress, achieving record endurance over 100 million electrical switching ...

Service level agreement framework for differentiated survivability in GMPLS-based IP-over-optical networks

open access: yes, 2007
In the next generation optical internet, GMPLS based IP-over-optical networks, ISPs will be required to support a wide variety of applications each having their own requirements. These requirements are contracted by means of the SLA. This paper describes

Spatial relationship of turfgrass tissue nitrogen content and several vegetation indices on sand‐capped golf course fairways

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Vegetation indices (VIs), such as normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), are widely used to assess nitrogen (N) status in crop systems and are gaining interest in turfgrass management. However, most studies have been conducted in controlled settings, and their relevance under real‐world golf course conditions remains unclear.

Novel Monoclonal Antibody Detects Small Aβ Oligomers More Sensitively Than Lecanemab in Alzheimer's Disease CSF, Serum and Culture Media

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 99, Issue 6, Page 1452-1465, June 2026.
Objective Aqueously diffusible oligomers of the amyloid β‐protein (oAβ) are neurotoxic and play a role in neuronal dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Accurate quantification of oAβ in brains and biofluids could be valuable for understanding and monitoring AD.
