A Weak Convergence to Hermite Process by Martingale Differences

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2014
We consider the weak convergence to general Hermite process ZH,k of order k with index H. By applying martingale differences we construct a sequence {ZH,kn ,  n=1,2,…} of multiple Wiener-Itô stochastic integrals such that it converges in distribution to ...

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Al–Cu Composite Casting of Laser‐Deoxidized Copper: Bonding, Interfacial Chemistry, and Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...

Weak convergence of Jacobian determinants under asymmetric assumptions

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 2012
Let $\Om$ be a bounded open set in $\R^2$ sufficiently smooth and $f_k=(u_k,v_k)$ and $f=(u,v)$ mappings belong to the Sobolev space $W^{1,2}(\Om,\R^2)$.

Compensating Operator and Weak Convergence of Semi-Markov Process to the Diffusion Process without Balance Condition

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2015
Weak convergence of semi-Markov processes in the diffusive approximation scheme is studied in the paper. This problem is not new and it is studied in many papers, using convergence of random processes.

AN ORDER OF WEAK CONVERGENCE OF NUMERICAL SOLUTIONS TO THE ENTROPY SOLUTION OF A SCALAR CONSERVATION LAW

open access: yesVìsnik Dnìpropetrovsʹkogo Unìversitetu: Serìâ Modelûvannâ, 2014
The weak convergence of numerical solutions to the exact entropy solution of a scalar conservation law for the Hopf quasilinear equation has been studied.

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

Finite Convergence for Feasible Solution Sequence of Variational Inequality Problems

open access: yesMathematical and Computational Applications, 2017
We establish the notion of augmented weak sharpness of solution sets for the variational inequality problems which can be abbreviated to VIPs. This notion of augmented weak sharpness is an extension of the weak sharpness of the solution set of monotone ...

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

High‐Temperature Nanoindentation of Metals: Assessing Thermal Drift, Frame Compliance, and Chemical Composition Effects on the Reported Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...
