From micro- to macrorealism: addressing experimental clumsiness with semi-weak measurements

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2020
We propose a protocol that allows to assess the precise correspondence between thought and practical experiments, a critical point for addressing experimental clumsiness in a test of macro- or micro-realism.

Measuring the temperature of the spin via weak measurement [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Theoretical Physics, 2020
Abstract In this study, we give a new proposal to measure the temperature of the spin in a sample in a magnetic resonance force microscopy system by using postselected weak measurement, and investigating the Fisher information to estimate the precision of the scheme.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

On Weak Compactness in Spaces of Measures

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 1997
It is proved that a weak\(^*\) compact subset \(A\) of scalar measures on a \(\sigma\)-algebra is weakly compact if and only if there exists a nonnegative scalar measure \(\lambda\) such that each measure in \(A\) is \(\lambda\)-continuous (such a measure \(\lambda\) is called a control measure for \(A\)).

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Can Weak Measurement Lend Empirical Support to Quantum Retrocausality?

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Quantum weak measurement is presented as shedding new light on the retrocausality question. It is shown to leave a system almost unaffected while gathering information about it.

Weak measurements with a qubit meter

open access: yes, 2009
We derive schemes to measure the so-called weak values of quantum system observables by coupling of the system to a qubit meter system. We highlight, in particular, the meaning of the imaginary part of the weak values, and show how it can be measured ...
