Weak Balance in Random Signed Graphs [PDF]

open access: yesInternet Mathematics, 2014
In this article, we strengthen some results in our previous work on balance in random signed graphs and study the weak balance. We show that many of the phenomena observed for the balance of random signed graphs extend to weak balance.

Effects of Empathy on the Evolutionary Dynamics of Fairness in Group-Structured Systems

open access: yesComplexity, 2019
The ultimatum game has been a prominent paradigm in studying the evolution of fairness. It predicts that responders should accept any nonzero offer and proposers should offer the smallest possible amount according to orthodox game theory.

Tensile Fracture Behavior of Corroded Pipelines: Part 2—Numerical Simulation Based on Monte Carlo Method

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
The experimental part in this companion paper revealed that the macroscopic mechanical performance of corroded pipes follows a decreasing trend with the increasing corrosion rate.

Criteria for Strong and Weak Random Attractors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Dynamics and Differential Equations, 2009
The theory of random attractors has different notions of attraction, amongst them pullback attraction and weak attraction. We investigate necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of pullback attractors as well as of weak attractors.

Privacy Image Encryption Algorithm Based on Novel Spatiotemporal Chaotic System [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng
Traditional spatiotemporal chaotic systems, characterized by uneven output distributions and weak chaotic phenomena, are limited in their application to private image encryption.

BMT4me En Español: Multisite Feasibility and Usability Testing of a Spanish‐Language mHealth Adherence Support App for Spanish‐Speaking Caregivers of Children After Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cancer Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Medication nonadherence during the first 100 days after pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and during oncology treatment increases risk for complications. BMT4me is a caregiver‐facing mobile health (mHealth) application providing medication reminders, symptom tracking, and note‐taking features to support ...

Species assemblages of zooplanktonic crustaceans in mountain shallow ponds of Chile (Parque Cañi)

open access: yesZoologia (Curitiba), 2010
Even though the Chilean lakes are characterized by their oligotrophy, a transition from oligotrophy to mesotrophy, due human intervention, has been reported in some lakes.

Weak Limits for Multivariate Random Sums

open access: yesJournal of Multivariate Analysis, 1998
In an earlier paper [Stat. Probab. Lett. 29, No. 4, 307-315 (1996; Zbl 0905.60017)], the authors introduced the concept of \(\nu\)-stable random variables, generalizing the stable and geometric stable families. Here, they consider their generalization to \(\mathbb{R}^d\), \(d\geq 2\).

Phase Angle as an Early Functional Biomarker of Cancer‐Related Fatigue in Pediatric Oncology: A Prospective Longitudinal Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric cancer remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, particularly in low‐and middle‐income countries. Cancer treatment may impair nutritional status, alter body composition, and exacerbate cancer‐related fatigue (CRF).
