SUSY Stops at a Bump

open access: yes, 2012
We discuss collider signatures of the "natural supersymmetry" scenario with baryon-number violating R-parity violation. We argue that this is one of the few remaining viable incarnations of weak scale supersymmetry consistent with full electroweak ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Amplification by stochastic interference

open access: yes, 1996
A new method is introduced to obtain a strong signal by the interference of weak signals in noisy channels. The method is based on the interference of 1/f noise from parallel channels.

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Empirical investigation on the dependence of TCP downstream throughput on SNR in an IEEE802.11b WLAN system

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Engineering Sciences, 2017
The dependence of TCP downstream throughput (TCPdownT) on signal to noise ratio (SNR) in an IEEE802.11b WLAN system was investigated in various environments and varieties of QoS traffic. TCPdownT was measured for various SNR observed.

A technique to detect periodic and non-periodic ultra-rapid flux time variations with standard radio-astronomical data

open access: yes, 2018
We demonstrate that extremely rapid and weak periodic and non-periodic signals can easily be detected by using the autocorrelation of intensity as a function of time.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Weak Underwater Signals’ Detection by the Unwrapped Instantaneous Phase

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
In marine seismic surveys, weak signals can be overlaid by stronger signals or even random noise. Detecting these signals can be challenging, especially when they are close to each other or partially overlapping.

Induced spin-orbit coupling in silicon thin films by bismuth doping

open access: yes, 2018
We demonstrate an enhancement of the spin-orbit coupling in silicon (Si) thin films by doping with bismuth (Bi), a heavy metal, using ion implantation.
