On uniqueness of dissipative solutions to the isentropic Euler system [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The dissipative solutions can be seen as a convenient generalization of the concept of weak solution to the isentropic Euler system. They can be seen as expectations of the Young measures associated to a suitable measure--valued solution of the problem.

KCS1 and VIP1, the genes encoding yeast phosphoinositol pyrophosphate synthases, are required for Ca2+‐mediated response to dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO)

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Ca2+‐mediated response to DMSO was investigated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells expressing Ca2+‐dependent aequorin. Cell exposure to DMSO induced a cytosolic Ca2+ wave dependent on the integrity of the Cch1/Mid1 channel. Deletion of KCS1 or VIP1 genes encoding the phosphoinositol pyrophosphate (PP‐IP) synthases suppressed the DMSO‐induced Ca2 ...

Qualitative analysis of solutions for a degenerate partial differential equations model of epidemic spread dynamics

open access: yesFrontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics
Compartmental models are widely used in mathematical epidemiology to describe the dynamics of infectious diseases or in mathematical models of population genetics.

Global weak solutions for a periodic two-component $μ$-Hunter-Saxton system [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
This paper is concerned with global existence of weak solution for a periodic two-component $\mu$-Hunter-Saxton system. We first derive global existence for strong solutions to the system with smooth approximate initial data. Then, we show that the limit of approximate solutions is a global weak solution of the two-component $\mu$-Hunter-Saxton system.

On asymptotic behavior of global solutions for hyperbolic hemivariational inequalities

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2006
In this paper we study the existence of global weak solutions for a hyperbolic differential inclusion with a discontinuous and nonlinear multi-valued term. Also we investigate the asymptotic behavior of solutions.

Non-linear biphasic mixture model: Existence and uniqueness results

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Applied Mathematics
This paper is concerned with the development and analysis of a mathematical model that is motivated by interstitial hydrodynamics and tissue deformation mechanics (poro-elasto-hydrodynamics) within an in-vitro solid tumour.
