In this study, the wear characteristics of the die were tested and analyzed through compaction tests, and the distribution of wear depth along the direction toward the extrusion outlet was obtained. A discrete element method (DEM) model of the die’s wear

Si‐doped AlCoCrFeNi high‐entropy alloys are synthesized by mechanical alloying to reveal the effect of Si content and milling time on phase evolution, microstructural refinement, and tribological behavior. A transition from FCC to BCC structure, significant grain refinement, and enhanced hardness and wear resistance are achieved, with the 4 at% Si ...

Research on wear and grinding models of high-speed turnouts based on semi-Hertz contact
In order to reduce turnout rail wear, the paper establishes a coupled dynamics model and a turnout rail wear model that consider the true profile of the turnout rail, the vehicle’s continuous traction force while passing, and the operational resistance ...

Wear model for reciprocating ball-on-flat wear tests
During the design phase of components is very difficult to obtain a reliable extrapolation for the outcome of a wear process and its implications. Regarding this situation, a wear model suitable for sliding wear was designed, allowing to estimate the volume loss on the both sliding surfaces.

Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Comparative Analysis of Wear Models for Accurate Wear Predictions
The development of innovative technologies and the employment of diverse material compositions have contributed to the enhancement of wear prediction methods. However, the accurate forecasting of service life and the identification of critical influencing factors remain challenging due to the complex interactions governing wear behaviour.

Electrified Damage in Motion Systems
The electrified damage in motion systems is a fundamental framework presenting the degradation pathway arising from the coupling of electrical energy transport with mechanical contact and interfacial chemistry. The framework positions electrified damage as a distinct degradation regime with unique characteristic surface morphologies and failures of ...

Hybrid Metal–Carbon Ink for Printed Stretchable Temperature Sensors
We prepare conductive inks for temperature sensing with silver flakes and carbon or graphite flakes in a silicone elastomer matrix. Silver dominates the temperature‐dependent conductivity, while the carbon filler network ensures the stability of the conductive pathways and retains function under strain.

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.
