Stratified Composition of Web Services
2008We propose an automatic service composition methodology where, three levels of composition knowledge are distinguished: user level, logical level and implementation level knowledge. We use a knowledge-based software development environment CoCoViLa that enables composition throughout these three levels.

Survey of web service composition
2015 5th International Conference on Information & Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA), 2015A web service (WS) is called compound or composite when its execution involves interactions with other WS to use their features. The composition of WS specifies which services need to be invoked, in what order and how to handle exception conditions. This paper gives an overview of research efforts of WS composition.

Visual composition of web services
IEEE Symposium on Human Centric Computing Languages and Environments, 2003. Proceedings. 2003, 2004Composing Web services into a coherent application can be a tedious and error prone task when using traditional textual scripting languages. As an alternative, complex interactions patterns and data exchanges between different Web services can be effectively modeled using a visual language.

Adaptive web service composition
ACM SIGSOFT Software Engineering Notes, 2007Web services have played an important role in the development of distributed systems. In particular, the possibility of composing already implemented web services in order to provide a new functionality is an interesting approach for building distributed applications and business processes.

Scheduling of Composite Web Services
2006Composite Web Services (CWS) aggregate multiple Web Services (WS) in one logical unit to accomplish a complex task (e.g business process) This aggregation is achieved by defining a workflow that orchestrates the underlying Web Services in a manner consistent with the desired functionality Since CWS can aggregate atomic WS and/or other CWS they foster ...

Conversations for Web Services Composition
2005This paper presents how conversations are integrated into Web services composition. While much of the recent work on Web services has focussed on low-level standards for publishing, discovering, and triggering them, this paper promotes Web services to the level of active components.

Web Services and Their Composition
2001Web Services gained a lot of attention in the software industry over the last couple of months (e.g. [1],[2], [3], [4], [5], [6]). Roughly, a web service is any piece of code that can be interacted with based on Internet technology.

From Communities of Web Services to Marts of Composite Web Services
2010 24th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications, 2010This paper presents an approach to developing $\b C$omposite $\b W$eb $\b S$ervices Marts ($\mathcal{CWS}$-Marts). A $\mathcal{CWS}$-Mart gathers ready-to-use composite Web services that users can invoke any time without going from scratch through the regular steps of discovering, selecting, and composing the necessary component Web services.

Exploring Web Service QoS Estimation for Web Service Composition
2020Web development, machine ubiquity, and the availability of communication networks impacted device design, replacing the idea of an isolated personal computer with one of distributed and connected computers. A web service is a component of software which provides a specific functionality that can be accessed over the Internet.

Verifying Web Services Composition
2005Current Web services composition proposals, such as BPEL, BPSS or WSCI, provide notations for describing the control and message flows in service collaborations. However, they remain at the descriptive level, without providing any kind of mechanisms or tool support for verifying the composition specified in them.
