Analysis of a Novel Brushless Doubly Fed Reluctance Generator Based Wind Energy Conversion System

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 1226-1240, March 2026.
BDFRG based grid connected wind energy conversion system. ABSTRACT This paper presents a grid connected Brushless Doubly‐Fed Reluctance Generator (BDFRG) based wind energy conversion system. It offers a reliable and cost‐effective solution since its brushless and cage‐less rotor structure eliminates the need for slip rings, reducing maintenance costs ...

Numerical study of hybrid systems combining different WECs microarrays based on the TGL semi-submersible floating platform

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
In this study, a novel wind-wave energy hybrid concept is proposed, consisting of a Three Gorges Leading semi-submersible floating wind turbine and multiple point absorption wave energy converters (WECs). Based on three-dimensional potential flow theory,

Research on the Carrying Capacity of the Water Environment Based on System Dynamics of Nanjing City, China

open access: yesSafety Science and Technology, Volume 1, Issue 1, March 2026.
The social and natural water circulation causal feedback relationship is established, and an SD model on water supply–demand and water ecological crisis is constructed. The GDP growth rate and the sewage treatment rate are identified as the key factors affecting the system.

A Concise Presentation of Doubly Fed Induction Generator Wind Energy Conversion Systems Challenges and Solutions

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2017
There is increased worldwide wind power generation, a large percentage of which is grid connected. The doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) wind energy conversion system (WECS) has many merits and, as a result, large numbers have been installed to date.

Charge screening by thin-shells in a 2+1-dimensional regular black hole

open access: yes, 2013
We consider a particular Bardeen black hole in 2+1-dimensions. The black hole is sourced by a radial electric field in non-linear electrodynamics (NED). The solution is obtained anew by the alternative Hamiltonian formalism. For $r\rightarrow \infty $ it

Advances in Triboelectric Nanogenerators With Rotating Structure

open access: yesCarbon Energy, Volume 8, Issue 2, February 2026.
The rotating TENG has been widely studied for its superiorities of simple structure, high efficiency, and stable output. This review introduced the four different principles of rotating TENG and offered a thorough summary for performance and application research through three‐level classification. Importantly, the current existing problems, challenges,

Techno-Economic Development of WECs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The successful development process of WECs demands large amounts of time and means. The optimal development trajectory manages to keep these expenses to a minimum while delivering an economically viable product at the end of its development. As related expenses (time and money) increase exponentially with the development stages (TRLs) while flexible ...

Impact of Structural Heterogeneities in Hierarchically Grown Microribbons on 2D WS2 Monolayer on the Measured Local Hydrogen Evolution Activity on Au Substrate

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 10, 17 February 2026.
Spatially resolved SECCM measurements reveal that hierarchically grown microribbons on 2D WS2 drastically suppress local HER activity. Relative to the basal plane of the 2D monolayer directly supported on an Au substrate, single‐layer and multilayer microribbons exhibit more than a ∼5‐fold and >10‐fold decrease in current density, respectively.

Wave basin testing of hydrodynamic interactions in centralized controlled wave energy converter arrays for irregular short- and long-crested waves

open access: yesApplied Ocean Research
To increase the total installed capacity, multiple wave energy converters (WECs) will be installed in an array configuration. Within these WEC arrays, hydrodynamic interactions occur and the sea state is modified accordingly. These WECs are equipped with
