Trypsin inhibitory effect of wedelolactone and demethylwedelolactone

Phytotherapy Research, 2003
AbstractWedelolactone (WL) and demethylwedelolactone (DWL) isolated from Eclipta alba were tested in the trypsin inhibition bioassay (in vitro). Both compounds showed potent activity. IC50 values of WL and DWL were found to be 2.9 and 3.0 µg/mL respectively. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Inhibition of topoisomerase IIα: Novel function of wedelolactone

Cancer Letters, 2011
The naturally occurring coumestan wedelolactone has been previously shown to reduce growth of various cancer cells. So far, the growth-suppressing effect of wedelolactone has been attributed to the inhibition of the NFκB transcription factor and/or androgen receptors.

[Wedelolactone alleviates hyperoxia-induced acute lung injury by regulating ferroptosis].

Zhonghua wei zhong bing ji jiu yi xue, 2023
To study whether wedelolactone can reduce hyperoxia-induced acute lung injury (HALI) by regulating ferroptosis, and provide a basic theoretical basis for the drug treatment of HALI.A total of 24 C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into normal oxygen control group, HALI model group and wedelolactone pretreatment group, with 8 mice in each group. Mice in

Wedelolactone activates the PI3K/AKT/NRF2 and SLC7A11/GPX4 signalling pathways to alleviate oxidative stress and ferroptosis and improve sepsis-induced liver injury.

Journal of Ethnopharmacology
INTRODUCTION Sepsis-induced liver injury (SILI) is a severe complication of sepsis. Wedelolactone (WEL) can be used to treat liver diseases. However, its therapeutic mechanisms and efficacy in SILI remain unclear.

Development and characterization of phyto-vesicles of wedelolactone for hepatoprotective activity

Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, 2011
Wedelolactone is isolated from the dried leaves of Eclipta alba (L.) and reported to be effective as a potential hepatoprotective, antibacterial and anti hemorrhagic. Pharmacokinetic studies of wedelolactone reveal its poor absorption through the intestine.
