Calculation of Weibull strength parameters and Batdorf flow-density constants for volume- and surface-flaw-induced fracture in ceramics [PDF]

open access: yes
The calculation of shape and scale parameters of the two-parameter Weibull distribution is described using the least-squares analysis and maximum likelihood methods for volume- and surface-flaw-induced fracture in ceramics with complete and censored ...

Analysis of Weibull parameters for wind power generation

open access: yesProcceedings of the 24th ABCM International Congress of Mechanicl Engineering, 2017
The aim of the present work is to perform an analysis of both Weibull parameters k and c for wind power generation so that one can have an idea of how the mechanisms of wind energy estimation work and build a better understanding of these parameters.

Development of a Fiber Bundle Cell Framework for Rapid, Reliability‐Based Analysis and Design of Pseudo‐Ductile Thin‐Ply Hybrid Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Application of the fiber bundle cell model for design or prediction of pseudo‐ductility. ABSTRACT In this study, we developed and validated a novel fiber bundle cell (FBC) framework to enable rapid, reliability‐anchored design of pseudo‐ductile thin‐ply carbon/glass hybrid composites.

Modelling of diameter distributions of Douglas (Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco) stands

open access: yesİstanbul Üniversitesi Orman Fakültesi Dergisi, 2016
In this study, Diameter distributions of Amance and Vallombrosa origin stands of Douglas were intendent modelling with two parameter Weibull probability density function having shape and scale parameters for different age periods.

Hygrothermal Aging and Decoupled Axial‐Radial Compressive Failure Mechanisms in Glass Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Filament‐Wound Composite Tubes

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Composite cylinder under axial and radial compression. ABSTRACT This study examines the hygrothermal degradation of filament‐wound glass fiber‐reinforced epoxy composite tubes designed for application as liners in oil and gas systems, focusing on their response under axial or radial compression.

Target‐site and non‐target‐site mechanisms confer multiple herbicide resistance in waterhemp (Amaranthus tuberculatus) accessions from Wisconsin

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
The A101 accession is the first confirmed case of hydroxyphenyl pyruvate dioxygenase resistance in Amaranthus tuberculatus in Wisconsin, and the first report of P450s associated with atrazine resistance in A. tuberculatus globally. Abstract BACKGROUND A preliminary screening identified a multiple herbicide‐resistant waterhemp, Amaranthus tuberculatus ...

A unified exponential-H family for modeling real-life data: Properties and inference

open access: yesHeliyon
The exponential distribution is one of the most widely used statistical distribution for reliability issues. In this paper, we introduce a novel family based on the exponential model, called the new exponential-H (NEx-H) family. The sub-models of the NEx-

Design of ceramic components with the NASA/CARES computer program [PDF]

open access: yes
The ceramics analysis and reliability evaluation of structures (CARES) computer program is described. The primary function of the code is to calculate the fast-fracture reliability or failure probability of macro-scopically isotropic ceramic components ...

Estimation of Weibull Parameters from Two-Order Statistics

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1975
Summary The use of a computationally simple statistic for estimating, from small samples, the important reciprocal-shape parameter, γ, of the Weibull distribution is described. The estimator uses two suitably selected order statistics from a sample of N failure times.
