An Improved Crow Search Algorithm Based on Spiral Search Mechanism for Solving Numerical and Engineering Optimization Problems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The crow search algorithm (CSA) is a new intelligent optimization algorithm based on the behavior of the crow population, which has been proven to perform well. However, its simple search mechanism also leads to the algorithm's slow convergence speed and

Metallic diffusion measured by a modified Knudsen technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Diffusion coefficient of a metal in high temperature system is determined. From the measurement of the weight loss from a Knudsen cell, the vapor pressure of the escaping species can be calculated.

Orthonormal Polynomials on the Unit Circle and Spatially Discrete Painlev\'e II Equation

open access: yes, 1999
We consider the polynomials $\phi_n(z)= \kappa_n (z^n+ b_{n-1} z^{n-1}+ >...)$ orthonormal with respect to the weight $\exp(\sqrt{\lambda} (z+ 1/z)) dz/2 \pi i z$ on the unit circle in the complex plane.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

On a more accurate Hardy-Mulholland-type inequality

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2017
By using the way of weight coefficients, the technique of real analysis, and Hermite-Hadamard’s inequality, a more accurate Hardy-Mulholland-type inequality with multi-parameters and a best possible constant factor is given.

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

A more accurate Mulholland-type inequality in the whole plane

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2017
By introducing independent parameters, applying the weight coefficients, and Hermite-Hadamard’s inequality, we give a more accurate Mulholland-type inequality in the whole plane with a best possible constant factor. Furthermore, the equivalent forms, the

A Dual Cooperative Optimization for Optimal Redundancy Quantity of MMC Submodules of Flexible Controller

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao, 2022
The failure of modular multilevel converter (MMC) submodules in the flexible direct current (DC) system affects the normal operation of the system, and the mutual restriction of reliability and economy is one of the key issues of MMC redundancy ...

The Properties of Pure Liquids [PDF]

open access: yes, 1953
By a semiempirical approach, a method is found to calculate the specific heat of a normal pure liquid at constant pressure form the specific heat of the gaseous state at the same temperature.
