Estimating statistical distributions using an integral identity [PDF]
We present an identity for an unbiased estimate of a general statistical distribution. The identity computes the distribution density from dividing a histogram sum over a local window by a correction factor from a mean-force integral, and the mean force ...

Deep Learning-Based Amplitude Fusion for Speech Dereverberation
Mapping and masking are two important speech enhancement methods based on deep learning that aim to recover the original clean speech from corrupted speech. In practice, too large recovery errors severely restrict the improvement in speech quality.

The (C, α) integrability of functions by weighted mean methods
Let p(x) be a nondecreasing continuous function on [0, ?) such that p(0) = 0 and p(t) ? ? as t ? ?. For a continuous function f (x) on [0, ?), we define s(t)= ?0t f(u)du and ?? (t) =?0t? (1- p(u)/p(t))? f(u)du. We say that a continuous function f (x) on [0, ?) is (C, ?) integrable to a by the weighted mean method determined by the ...

Brain network analysis : separating cost from topology using cost-integration [PDF]
A statistically principled way of conducting brain network analysis is still lacking. Comparison of different populations of brain networks is hard because topology is inherently dependent on wiring cost, where cost is defined as the number of edges in

General Tauberian conditions for weighted mean methods of summability [PDF]
Summary: In this paper we recover convergence of a complex sequence \((u_n)\) out of its summability by weighted means under certain supplementary conditions that control the oscillatory behavior of \((u_n)\). As corollaries, we obtain classical Hardy-type Tauberian conditions for various weighted mean methods.

A weighted reduced basis method for parabolic PDEs with random data
This work considers a weighted POD-greedy method to estimate statistical outputs parabolic PDE problems with parametrized random data. The key idea of weighted reduced basis methods is to weight the parameter-dependent error estimate according to a ...
