LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Mapping annual soil loss in the southeast of Peshawar basin, Pakistan, using RUSLE model with geospatial approach

open access: yesGeology, Ecology, and Landscapes
Soil erodibility is challenging for agricultural soils, sustainable farming systems and water-food security in developing countries. Regional scale precise estimation of soil erosion is vital to save fertile soils. For this purpose, geospatial technology

Weighted divisor sums and Bessel function series, IV

open access: yesThe Ramanujan Journal, 2012
The paper is devoted to an identity published in Ramanujan's Lost Notebook (p. 335) involving a finite trigonometric sum and a doubly infinite series of Bessel functions, connected with the classical divisor and circle problems. First the result from the notebook is generalized to an identity for Riesz sums (taking \(\nu=1\) below, the original ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Sampling the Multivariate Standard Normal Distribution under a Weighted Sum Constraint

open access: yesRisks, 2018
Statistical modeling techniques—and factor models in particular—are extensively used in practice, especially in the insurance and finance industry, where many risks have to be accounted for.

Sums of weight vectors and sums of semilinear functions

open access: yesAequationes Mathematicae, 1988
From authors' introduction: Our basic theorem is a general result in linear algebra, a set of equations describing the space where commuting operators \(\{\gamma_{\alpha}\}\) are disgonalizable with specified eigenvalues \(\phi_ 1(\gamma_ k),...,\phi_ n(\gamma_{\alpha}),... \).

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.
