Study on Welding Inherent Deformations in Welded Structural Materials

open access: yesStudy on Welding Inherent Deformations in Welded Structural Materials
It is meaningful to predict welding deformation in practical time and to apply these data in welding industry. In this paper, the inherent deformations of beading on plate welding and fillet welding are studied. A 3D thermal-elastic-plastic FEM based on interactive substructure method (ISM) is used to predict the welding deformations.

Physical Anchoring‐Assisted Mechanically Guided Assembly for Material‐Independent 3D Mesostructures

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Conventional mechanically guided 3D assembly relies on selective chemical bonding between 2D precursors and elastomeric substrates, imposing fundamental limitations on material compatibility and scalability. Here, we present a physically anchored, buckling‐guided assembly platform based on a rod array patterned elastomeric substrate (RPES).

Manganese Oxide Catalysts for Lithium–Oxygen Batteries: Structures, Mechanisms, and Reaction Pathway Engineering

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
How do the morphologies, crystal structures, and electronic properties of manganese oxides influence oxygen reaction pathways in lithium–oxygen batteries (LOBs)? This review systematically summarizes structure‐dependent catalytic mechanisms and recent engineering strategies, highlighting how defect engineering, compositional modulation, and reaction ...

Highly integrated, alignment healing, and full‐recyclable multifunctional flexible devices based on dynamic covalent bonds

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
This study addresses stability, repair, and recycling in flexible devices using polymers with identical dynamic bonds but incompatible backbones. This enables robust integration, precise self‐healing, and full recyclability. We demonstrate optoelectronic sensors that, after damage, magnetically self‐assemble and heal upon heating.

Recycling‐Induced Copper Contamination of a 42CrMo4 Quench and Tempering Steel—Scaling and Susceptibility to Hot Shortness

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
In this study, the susceptibility to copper‐induced hot shortness of the alloy 42CrMo4 is investigated by different hot tensile tests, as well as by a detailed analysis of the formed oxidation products. While an enrichment of metallic copper and a penetration of the grain boundaries are observed, no critical reduction of the tensile test properties can
