Summary Measures to control the welding deformation affecting basic welded joints have so far been extensively clarified and can be to some extent estimated from the welding conditions. Welding deformation, however, is predicted to depend on the skills of welding operatives, being affected by welding conditions such as the welding heat input, leg ...

Research on Welding Deformation Simulation
Advanced Materials Research, 2011A method to obtain welding deformation values and simulating welding deformation effect is proposed in the paper. In this method, the structure is subdivided into Triangular element, the coordinates for nodes adopt the actual value, the coordinates of points are calculated with interpolation of all nodes in the element, and the normal vector of node is

Geometric Deformations of Welded Metallic Structures
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014Various research on the influence of different process parameters on quality characteristics of metallic structures assembled by welding have been accomplished [1 - 8, etc.]. The deformations of metallic structure components assembled by welding depend on the characteristics of the components, welded gap, welding speed, scheme and time of components ...

Description of Welding Deformations
2005A material in the welding process can be considered by way of the concept of a body. In the course of thermal and mechanical loadings the body changes its geometrical shape. The consequences of welding processes are small deformations of the welded body and large deformations as it is in friction and spot welding.

Fatigue of Deformed Welded-Wire Reinforcement
PCI Journal, 2007Using welded-wire reinforcement (WWR) as an alternative to traditional mild steel reinforcing bars has many advantages. WWR has a higher yield strength and is produced under higher quality control standards. Its use also results in fewer labor costs associated with construction. However, many designers are reluctant to use WWR as an alternative to mild

Evaluation of welding deformation on ITER vacuum vessel
18th IEEE/NPSS Symposium on Fusion Engineering. Symposium Proceedings (Cat. No.99CH37050), 2003The evaluation of welding deformation on the vacuum vessel sector model of the Interaction Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) has been performed using a finite element method analysis. The welding data of a simple plate test is translated to thermal shrinkage and applied to the model as an equivalent welding deformation force.
