Failure Investigation of Alloy 625 Sockolets After Prolonged Service in an Ammonia Cracker Unit
The failure of the sockolets was caused by intergranular cracking and fracture. The thick and highly brittle nitrided layer formed intergranular surface cracks, which propagated along grain boundaries into the base alloy substrate due to the presence of brittle Cr‐rich carbides. ABSTRACT Several sockolets of Alloy 625 operating at 540°C in contact with

Effect of Welding Sequence on Deposition Geometry Control in GMAW Remanufacturing
GMAW welding remanufacturing is the process to form part layer by layer, that it is typical nonlinear transient heat conduction. During remanufacturing, parts undergo heating time after time that the thermal cycle fluctuates acutely and the distribution ...

This article examines the impact of externally introduced chromium compounds on the localized corrosion of 316 L stainless steel in acidic chloride environments such as hydrochloric acid. While the corrosion resistance of 316 L relies on the formation of a chromium‐rich passive oxide layer, industrial conditions may expose the steel to various chromium

ABSTRACT This study aims to validate the structural and thermomechanical reliability of an additively manufactured test chamber specifically designed for the experimental investigation of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) atomization under jet‐in‐crossflow (JICF) conditions representative of gas turbine afterburners. The proposed test chamber is designed

Abstract Several methodologies analyzing welding distortions of large shell structures like ship blocks have been developed and utilized in shipyards for a long times ago. In general, one of objects of thermal distortion analysis is to find welding sequence making least-deformation without any suppliance, and it can be solved easily and rapidly by EP ...
