Effect of Welding Sequence in Angular Distortion on Butt Joint GMAW Process
Over time, the industrial use of the welding process has grown in significance and is now one of the primary methods for joining metallic parts. During the welding process, metallurgical and structural modifications occur close to the welded joint.

In this paper the influence of tack welds distribution and welding sequence on angular distortion of the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welded joint was tested. Additionally, the effect of welding current on angular distortion was assessed. For research X2CrTiNb18 (AISI 441) stainless steel (2.5 mm thick) was chosen.

Assessment of HCLL-TBM optimum welding sequence scenario to minimize welding distortions [PDF]
Abstract The ITER HCLL-TBM (Helium Cooled Lithium Lead Test Blanket Module) box assembly development implies the welding development of the following components: the Box and the Stiffening Grid (SG) made of vertical and horizontal Stiffening Plates (noted respectively v-SP and h-SP).

Welding sequence effects on residual stress distribution in offshore wind monopile structures [PDF]
Residual stresses are often inevitably introduced into the material during the fabrication processes, such as welding, and are known to have significant effects on the subsequent fatigue crack growth behavior of welded structures.
