Estimation of the Clutch Characteristic Map for Wet Clutch Transmissions Considering Actuator Signal and Clutch Slip

open access: yesIFAC-PapersOnLine, 2016
Abstract The wet dual clutch transmission is an essential part of the powertrain in modern high-power engine vehicles. This clutch is a complex mechatronic system which has high requirements on control to provide comfort, sportiness and economy Many control concepts use clutch characteristics in control.

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

A Real-Time Dynamic Temperature Prediction Method for Double-Steel Plates in Wet Clutches

open access: yesLubricants
Wet clutches are extensively employed in automotive transmission systems due to their benefits of smooth shift and stable operation. However, existing methodologies have not yet thoroughly analyzed the real-time dynamic temperature distribution of wet ...

Defect Evolution and Mechanical Performance of Fused Filament Fabrication‐Manufactured 17‐4PH Stainless Steel Revealed by X‐Ray Computed Tomography

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
X‐ray computed tomography reveals how process‐induced defects evolve from green to sintered states in Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)‐manufactured 17‐4PH stainless steel. Internal porosity, weakest cross‐sections, and fracture locations show strong correlation with tensile performance, demonstrating the potential of computed tomography (CT)‐based ...

Wet clutch tribological performance optimization methods

open access: yes, 2008
Wet clutches are used in a variety of machinery such as in vehicles where they are used to distribute torque in the drivetrains. Clutches can be located in automatic transmissions or in limited slip differentials.

Evaluations of Vibrations in a Wet Clutch

open access: yes, 2019
BorgWarner Powerdrive Systems is constantly developing the performance of wet clutches used in passenger car all-wheel drive systems. The Haldex limited slip coupling, LSC, is the trade name of the all-wheel drive system sold and developed by BorgWarner Powerdrive Systems.

The influence of temperature on the engagement process of the wet clutches

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
Abstract The wet clutch is an important component in the vehicle transmission system, which has an important influence on the smoothness and rapidity of the vehicle starting and shifting processes. As a friction element, wet clutches are usually troubled by the wear and breakage problems, caused by high temperature. To solve this problem

Hybrid Metal–Carbon Ink for Printed Stretchable Temperature Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We prepare conductive inks for temperature sensing with silver flakes and carbon or graphite flakes in a silicone elastomer matrix. Silver dominates the temperature‐dependent conductivity, while the carbon filler network ensures the stability of the conductive pathways and retains function under strain.
