A comparison of modelling methods for polydispersed wet‐steam flow
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2003AbstractSpontaneous nucleation of water droplets in moist air or steam may result in droplet spectra which are complex in shape and which span a broad range of sizes. This is particularly true if the flow is transonic or supersonic with shock waves present, or if an already droplet‐laden flow re‐expands to give secondary or tertiary nucleations ...

Numerical modeling and high-order scheme for wet steam flow
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2015A mathematical model of three-dimensional nonequilibrium condensing wet-steam flow is established in Eulerian form, based on conservation laws for a mixture of steam and water droplets. The method of moments is introduced in modeling the droplet spectrum.

Wet Steam Flow Modeling in a General CFD Flow Solver
35th AIAA Fluid Dynamics Conference and Exhibit, 2005The focus of this paper is on the implementation of a two-phase wet-steam model in a general-purpose CFD flow solver. The formation of liquid-droplets in a homogeneous non-equilibrium condensation process is defined by a phase-change model which is based on classical nucleation theory.

Numerical Sensitivity Study and Calibration of Non-Equilibrium Wet Steam Model
Volume 5B: Oil and Gas Applications; Steam Turbines, 2013Comparisons between one- and two-dimensional experiments and non-equilibrium wet steam CFD simulations are conducted paying attention not only to pressure profiles and wetness but also to the more difficult to match droplet diameter. To achieve the objective of optimizing the match of data the heat transfer model between the droplet and its surrounding

Modelling of the batch treatment of wet granular solids with superheated steam in fluidized beds
Chemical Engineering and Processing: Process Intensification, 1999This article deals with the batch treatment of granular solids with superheated steam. The treatment of these solids by fluidisation, drying and roasting is described. The benefits of this treatment above other alternatives are energety savings, better product quality and higher plant safety.

Numerical Modelling of Dry and Wet Steam Flows in Converging-Diverging Nozzles
2014Problem of water erosion in low pressure steam turbine stage is serious due to the formation of water droplets which travel at supersonic speed within the blade channel. The impact of these droplets could cause damage to turbine blade, and effort to understand the underlying mechanism of this type of flow has been devoted many years ago.

Comparative study of homogeneous nucleation rate models for wet steam condensing flows
Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2016To accurately describe the homogeneous nucleation process in a wet-steam dual-phase flow and to improve the reliability of computations of the condensing steam flow, classical homogeneous nucleation theories were derived and summarized based on the molecular agglomerate thermodynamic free energies.
