Genotype and environment interaction on yield and quality parameters of organically grown winter wheat – Triticum aestivum L. genotypes [PDF]
The interaction of genotype and environment upon yield and quality parameters of eight winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes was studied under organic conditions in Austria over two growing periods, 2001/2002 and 2002/2003, respectively.

Transgenic approach to improve wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) nutritional quality
An amaranth (Amaranthus hypochondriacus) albumin gene, encoding the 35-kDa AmA1 protein of the seed, with a high content of essential amino acids, was used in the biolistic transformation of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety Cadenza. The transformation cassette carried the ama1 gene under the control of a powerful wheat endosperm-specific ...

BackgroundExpansin loosens plant cell walls and involves in cell enlargement and various abiotic stresses. Plant expansin superfamily contains four subfamilies: α-expansin (EXPA), β-expansin (EXPB), expansin-like A (EXLA), and expansin-like B (EXLB).

Underutilised crops in Europe: An interdisciplinary approach towards sustainable practices
Abstract In the context of a rapidly growing global population and significant climatic and environmental change, there is an urgent need to produce nutritious food in a sustainable manner. Some crops are underutilised in Europe, despite their suitability to local environments, viability for sustainable production and potential to improve diets.

Biochemical and cytological studies of genetic transfer from the Mv genome of Aegilops ventricosa into hexaploid wheat [PDF]
A double interspecific oross {Triticum turgidum (AB) var. rubroatrum H-l-1 x Ae. ventvicosa (DM°) AP-l} x T.aestivum (ABD) cv. Almatense H-10-1S was carried out in 1950 by M.

MOLECULAR CHARACTERIZATION OF WHEAT GENOTYPES (TRITICUM AESTIVUM L.)
Molecular diversity in thirty wheat genotypes was done. For this the genomic DNA isolation was carried out and which were then subjected to PCR amplification using twenty SSR primers. Out of these twenty SSR primers, eighteen yielded amplifications and showed polymorphism.

Cold hardiness mechanisms and modeling: existing approaches and future avenues
Summary Cold hardiness models are useful tools to predict cold damage in plants, such as those produced by unseasonal temperature cycles or by increased cold exposure. Although development of these models started about five decades ago, their applications remain limited.
