A Design Method for Rail Profiles in Switch Panel of Turnout Based on the Contact Stress Analysis

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2020
Contact stress between wheel and rail is believed to cause damage to the rail. The relationship between the contact stress and the radius of the rail is initially based on the Hertz contact theory.

Study on Influence of Diversified Parameters of Vehicle and Track on Wheel Hollow Wear

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2018
Wheel hollow wear of high-speed train is one of the main damage types for the wheel. By optimizing the vehicle and track parameters and matching the wheel-rail profile, the hollow wear of wheel can be reduced. In order to study the sensitivity of vehicle

Vehicle lateral stability analysis based on wheel/rail match

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2008
For the simulation analysis of vehicle lateral stability may better represent the uncommon significance of self-excited vibration,a novel analysis methodology of lateral stability is proposed based on wheel/rail match. On contrast with wheel/rail geometrical contact, the contour interaction of the free-wheelset contact process, including contact ...

From Flybys to Sample Return: A Review of Space Probes and Robotic Sampling Technologies for Small Bodies

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As a crucial puzzle piece of deep space exploration, exploring small bodies can provide significant scientific insights and valuable mineral resources. Unlike missions to the Moon and Mars, small‐body missions pose distinct technical challenges, including communication delays, weak gravity, and uncertain environments. This paper reviews a full

Increasing the Reuse Potential of High‐Strength Steels by Extending the Fatigue Life through Surface Treatments

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Surface reconditioning through mechanical and electrochemical polishing is shown to extend the fatigue life of predamaged 42CrMo4 steel by over 12 times. By removing ≈100 μm of surface material, surface‐driven fatigue damage is mitigated. This study introduces a reuse potential metric to evaluate fatigue recovery and support sustainable steel reuse. To

Exploiting Residual Elements Arising from Scrap Steel in Future Sustainable Steel Alloy Design

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Herein, the effects of residual elements Cu and Sn on grain growth, recrystallization, and phase transformation in C–Mn steel are summarized, and a case study is presented on how the presence of residual elements can be exploited to reduce deliberate Nb microalloying while achieving the same grain size control and strength during thermomechanical ...

The Non‐Understandable World of Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Therapist's Implicit Understanding and Subsequent Deepened Understanding

open access: yesJournal of Analytical Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper examines the concept of non‐understandable in psychotherapy, based on the author's own play therapy with a boy with mild ASD (autism spectrum disorder). ASD is considered to belong to an area beyond comprehension, as psychotherapy is often deemed ineffective for it.
