Grinding wheel wear evaluation with the PMSCNN model. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Rep
The grinding wheel wear significantly affects machining efficiency and machining quality. Consequently, the grinding wheel wear assessment model PMSCNN derived from the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and the Transformer model is presented. Firstly, the grinding wheel spindle motor current signal is measured using a current sensor.

Wheel wear in Form Grinding

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society of Precision Engineering, 1978
In form grinding, wheel wear is given rise to public discussion in finished accuracy of workpiece. So, to make clear of the mechanism of wear phenomena at the vicinity of grinding wheel's sharpedge in V-groove grinding, the present paper describes the influence of grinding conditions upon wheel wear.

ANALYSIS OF LOCOMOTIVE WHEEL SETS WEARING

open access: yesTRANSPORT, 2002
Wearing dynamics of traction rolling-stock wheel tyres of diesel locomotives was investigated. Based on research results it is possible to predict wheel-tyre safety margin, to improve maintenance and state periodicity of repair, as well as to use traction rolling-stock repair funds most efficiently.

FEATURES WEAR OF THE WHEEL THREAD

open access: yesCollected scientific works of Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport, 2014
In practice there for more than 60 types of defects set of wheels that arise under the influence ofvarious factors , and from them , directly or indirectly dependent on traffic safety. Therefore, set of wheels, which exceed the established defects undergo repair or excluded from theinventory.

A numerical simulation of wheel wear

open access: yesWear, 2005
Abstract The conditions at the wheel/rail contact have a dramatic impact on safety, ride quality and cost of maintenance. Appreciating its importance, the US Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) initiated a project to improve both the understanding of and application of an improved wheel/rail interaction on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor.

Revealing patterns in the wear of profile diamond wheels

open access: yesEastern-European Journal of Enterprise Technologies, 2020
The electro-erosive wheel dressing exerts a significant impact on the machining accuracy of an article and the efficiency of the profile grinding process. To effectively control machining accuracy, the most important is the error due to the wear of a diamond wheel.

WEAR GRINDING WHEELS WITH PRECISE WORKING SURFACE

open access: yesCutting & Tools in Technological System, 2020
. The use of circles with an intermittent working surface is an effective means of increasing productivity and reducing the heat stress of the grinding process. These positive effects are largely determined by the appearance of high-frequency oscillations in the elastic system of the machine, which facilitate the chip formation process and create ...

Rail-wheel Interaction and Its Influence on Rail and Wheels Wear

open access: yesProcedia Manufacturing, 2019
Abstract Railway superstructure and the rolling stock form a complex mechanical system. Due to the interaction between the rolling stock and the rail, wears occur, both at the wheel profile, as on the rail. This wears generate interaction forces that accelerates the railway track deterioration.

Determining an Allowable Wear of Worm Wheels

open access: yesTransactions of FAMENA, 2017
The paper presents an analysis based on the two criteria used to determine an allowable sliding wear of the worm gear side teeth and of the worm wheels. In both cases, two undesirable consequences occurred. The first one is a reduction in the tooth root cross section, which may lead to tooth fracture.
