Seminars in Avian and Exotic Pet Medicine, 2001The techniques for counting white blood cells in birds are described. By knowing the procedures used to perform white blood cell counts, the practitioner has the upper hand in knowing the accuracy of a result. Disadvantages of each technique are noted and recommendations for the practitioner are made.
