Using blue-emitting GaN LEDs on SiC substrate chips as primary light sources, we have fabricated green, yellow, red and white light emitting diodes (LUCOLEDs). The generation of mixed colors, as turquoise and magenta, is also demonstrated. The underlying physical principle is that of luminescence downconversion (Stokes shift), as typical for organic ...

White‐Light‐Emitting Supramolecular Gels
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2013Let there be light, let it be white: Recent developments in the use of chromophore-based gels as scaffolds for the assembly of white-light-emitting soft materials have been significant. The main advantage of this approach lies in the facile accommodation of selected luminescent components within the gel.

Lightness of Gray in the Presence of White
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1965The empirical evidence thus far indicates that the square root rule applies for first lightness judgments of a middle gray by naive Ss when viewing either: (a) contiguous symmetrically displayed white and gray fields or (b) a white patch surrounded by gray; but not when (c) the gray is seen as a patch against a white background.

White-light Fizeau interferometer
Applied Optics, 1997A white-light Fizeau interferometer is described. Commonly, white-light fringes can be produced only by using a virtual wedge instrument such as a Michelson interferometer. By use of a series arrangement of a Fabry-Perot interferometer in front of a two-beam Fizeau interferometer, white-light fringes can be produced.

Conclusion: White Light, White Life
2020Shortly before his suicide, Deleuze writes “Immanence: A Life”; a short text that, like “The Actual and the Virtual,” has the feel of both testament and legacy. Unlike the former, however, it stresses the decomposition rather than the composition of crystals, and it proposes a purely transcendental plane of anonymous life; a purely

Concept of white light in stage lighting
SPIE Proceedings, 2002In perceiving objects, generally we see them in a white light situation. But, actually, there is not an absolute white, in such a manner that the different light sources have a determined kind of white, what it is known as color temperature. Even the white light may be of different kinds (different color temperature), the individual mind tends to ...
