Age‐Related Changes in Myeloid Cells and Their Impact on Subcutaneous Melanoma Growth in Mice

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Our findings reveal that age‐related changes in subcutaneous melanoma growth and immunotherapy response are context‐dependent. In models where tumor growth and treatment resistance increase with age, this effect is partly driven by enhanced immunosuppression from myeloperoxidase‐active Gr‐1⁺ myeloid cells.

Durable B‐Cell Impairment While Sparing IgA B Cells After Ocrelizumab Therapy in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Ocrelizumab (OCR), a humanized anti‐CD20 monoclonal antibody, is highly efficient in relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RR‐MS). We assessed early cellular B‐cell profiles in patients prior to OCR treatment, on OCR treatment, and after 15 months of therapy discontinuation.

Towards a Point-of-Care Test of CD4+ T Lymphocyte Concentrations for Immune Status Monitoring with Magnetic Flow Cytometry

open access: yesMicromachines
For the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected patients, the regular assessment of the immune status is indispensable. The quantification of CD4+ T lymphocytes in blood by gold standard optical flow cytometry is not point-of-care ...

Central Dysmyelination in SSADH‐Deficient Humans and Mice

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Succinic semialdehyde dehydrogenase deficiency (SSADHD) is an inherited metabolic disorder characterized by an accumulation of γ‐aminobutyric (GABA). In addition to its synaptic role as an inhibitory neurotransmitter, GABA also plays an important role in myelination.

Photodynamic inactivation of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in whole blood using riboflavin photodynamic method

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
Treating bacteremia caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria is a global concern. Antibacterial photodynamic inactivation is a promising strategy to combat it. However, it’s challenging to achieve the inactivation of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in whole
